322 ultra-fast HPC locations as well as 27 so-called e-loading hubs are to be created in the context of the pan-European project mega-e by Allego and Fortum Charge. On the total number of charging points, this results in a total of 1.300 charging points in metropolitan regions and along highways. The timetable provides that by 2025 seamless fast loading in more than 20 European countries is possible by 2025. The so-called e-loading hubs offer the possibility to combine multiple charging solutions. Say, different requirements and loading speeds can be operated. For skillful and targeted implementation, therefore, the statement of the company is: “An important milestone for all electro-car drivers and commuters in Europe”.
As HPC locations, the following countries are provided: Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Both partners bring work performance into this project and share it as follows: Allego assumes the construction of the shop network in Central Europe; Fortum in Scandinavia. Already in October, there was talk of “multi-charging hubs” in metropolitan regions and along highways.
Electrive has learned that the 322 charging stations are to be locations with four HPC charging points each. The charging locations are connected to the medium voltage network with 1.4 MW; Provided this is technically implementable. As a result, four vehicles can be loaded simultaneously with up to 350 kW. Someworthy, the E-Charging Hubs are designed: There, both the super fast HPC loaders, so also significantly slower stations for users who linger longer at the place of the action.
The project MEGA-E was selected by the European Union on co-financing. The starting signal should fall even in the first half of 2018 if the final financing round is. For further investors, the entry into the project is still open; Locations and location partners will be announced at a later date.
