Allowance: Weshare of VW blocks charging infrastructure in Berlin-blocks

Volkswagen in July 2019 with Weshare in Berlin entered the expanding carsharing business. With 1.500 E-Golf electric cars brings the Volkswagen brand a completely electric fleet on the road, which will be operated without exception with green stream. Further E models should follow. But in Berlin, not all of the Weshare offer seem to be enthusiastic.

Weshare service is to electrify capital

By mail, we have achieved several hints, which point out that Weshare blocked by VW Loading infrastructure in Berlin. Over longer periods of time. For this you have to know that Weshare works after the “Free-Floating” principle without fixed rental stations and works digitally via app.

Already to introduce the Weshare service in Berlin, it has been informed that the Weshare Fleet will use the public shop Berlin, including newly emerging charging points to 70 branches of food retailers Lidl and Kaufland. The Weshare vehicles are initially collected and charged at low battery level by Weshare Service Employees. In later operation, users also receive incentives for the independent shop.

Weshare blocks charging stations and ensures trouble and frustration

So far so good. Provided it is ensured that the charging stations are released again after the loading time. Because known to the charging infrastructure is not so strongly expanded to allow it to block it accordingly.

In special cases, among other things, we were pointed out that a VW E-Golf was parked without loading, which often happens according to the testimony in Berlin. In this and other cases it was evening, parking just in short supply, just the charging station. The Ordnungsamt had already worked to this if necessary. to contact. Establish the E-Golf for several hours on the charging station and blocked these.

In another case, which was described to us, a corresponding electric car was over seven hours on a charging station. The pillar reported already “cargo finished”. In addition, a maximum charging time of 4 hours is valid to this location. Partially, several Weshare vehicles also block the double leader of Allego in the city and invite relatively long.

A solution for this problem does not seem right now. Now the question is in the room, how does VW want to deal with the annoyance and frustration of the Berliner? We have contacted vw. An answer is out.

  1. Like today (Monday) so even last Friday blocks a Weshare Golf the heavily frequented charging pillar Meinekestr. 1. The things are parked at night and then it is likely to be hoped that someone (customer) moves away with it “timely”. I will call police and public office in the future. And if cambers do not improve, ask Allego for an emergency expanding (so that you can peel off the cable on the column) and then let tail. First, talk to us with your dirty diesel and then block the magic infrastructure.

  2. The cases described here are very nice. But in my case the Weshare E-Golf was 40 hours. on the charging column. And then it took another hour again. until the E-Golf standing there was replaced by another by Weshare.
The reaction of Weshare is prefabricated and leaves more than to be desired. Supposedly it should only take 30 minutes if you call there. Maybe it had worked in a special case. I just suspect that Weshare has too little staff for as many cars.
Then to rest on future announcements, I find it thirty. It would be nice if Weshare would react and act. Then there would be no dispute with other E motorists.
But the problem is not only known at Weshare. It’s just currently. Generally Sharing providers should have their own charging columns before they are allowed to start their business at all.
And if you shop publicly, then today you have the overview of your fleets over the telematics systems and about every single vehicle. There is no great sorcery to embed the data in a system.

  3. That’s a pity to read. However, that’s not just a problem with sharing vehicles. Here in Hamburg, unfortunately, private Eautos will be happy to be without a sustained point to be on the charging sites because it is difficult to find a normal parking lot in the areas. So far, it was very commonly combustion, but now more and more Eautos are falling up.
Just three days ago, a Porsche with E marked such one that made the store impossible.
I think that’s really weak of Eauto riders who would actually know better. But the main thing you do not have any circumstances. That they make other difficulties, they do not care or they take appreciate.
This Egomania here in Germany is getting worse.

Here is an Inteview of the Interessengemeinschaft Berlin / Brandenburg with WE Share.
There must be a solution, maybe 60kWh ID.3 They only invite at night or own charging parks for car sharing vehicles. If the state would expand the loading mill as well would not have a problem.

  5. To read sad, but that was foreseeable.
Exactly this situation, which is now not only interested in Sharing Eautos but the entire movement was that it has caused me to do two things:

1.) Build your own charging station
    2.) To buy a Tesla Model 3

At Tesla we have the problem lately too, but far not so dramatic.
Because Tesla raises a juicy blocking fee per minute on the SuperCharger when the vehicle remains further connected after completion of the charging process.
That could also do all other providers and many public charging stations in my environment rise this fee.

As far as the parking is parked without affiliated vehicle, I have a long charging cable.
I just park the parked Eauto and upload my.
And what parked burners are concerned – a nice note under the windscreen wiper and a call to the police and the towing service gives the driver of the combustion a costly (~ 200 €) lesson.
Especially practiced when it is a fat SUV ..

    It’s like it’s always.
Misconduct must be expensive, otherwise omans do not change their behavior …

  6. This shows again only once more that e-cars will not solve the problems of inner cities. Only those who can prove an assigned and booked PP should also drive in there!

  7. Hello, blockade through 2 Weshare vehicles live on 06.09.2019 at noon at 12:30 pm experienced at the Lidl-Lader in Berlin-Charlottenburg, where 1 vehicle was not connected, the other has long been full. Their agreement with Lidl + Kaufland is, using the charging columns only outside (!!!) Business hours. It’s like so often: Hardly anyone is standing on rules. Otherwise, I sign the comment from Sven Schmolke. The electric vehicles of such companies are not included in the public charging infrastructure.

  8. Actually, whether Weshare, Sixtshare, Drivenow or anything else. The users of these services (which I belong to themselves) understand the areas as personal parking and that must be clearly indicated opposite.

  9. In order for such states to prevent in my opinion, more public charging stations in Berlin constructed and equal time “loading hubs” are created for private providers. In the field of public and semi-public loading in Berlin, there are already a variety of providers offering good charging solutions for various industries and commercial groups. So also the company Virta, which offers turnkey complete solutions (charging stations plus software) and is based in Berlin: https: // http://www.virta.Global / DE

  10. As long as rigoros is not towed in the cases mentioned, nothing will change. I have only experienced last Thursday in Nostotezstrabe in Berlin, how equal to 2 Weshare vehicles have completely blocked a charging column. Both vehicles were already fully charged on 09:00 on my arrival and were still there at 13:00, even though only 4 hours may be loaded there. Otherwise there is absolute stop ban.
Annoying for me. I would like to load there during my stay. So I had to go back right away with gasoline.

  11. Only the change battery in which Youtube contribution shown from Minute 9, from a Danish pioneer a few years ago already developed in Copenhagen and Israel as a prototype, as a complete complex with a Renault Megane in 1:30 minutes fully automatically changed the future:
The car is purchased without a battery, these are rented at the “gas station” against a low usage fee for each operation.
The advantage is obvious: no own battery can break. Thus, the financial risk is minimized. And a full “tank” / battery is in a few minutes.

With around 100 seconds, the process is much faster than liquid fuels. And existing infrastructure, could also be used.
