Applications for environmental bonus significantly fallen in January 2022-applications

Until 31. January 2022 went to the Federal Office for Economics and Export Control (BAFA) 1.084.212 funding applications. Since the end of December 2021 are thus 38.963 applications newly added. These figures as a basis had to record the purchase premium applications for electric cars and plug-in hybrids in January, if one compares them with the previous applications in December. A similar picture was already 2021 to see when a record december in 2020 also the number of applications declined.

1.084.212 Environmental bonus applications were submitted by the end of January 2022 at the Federal Office for Economics and Export Control (BAFA). The applications for vehicles with alternative drive have thus been mentioned in the first month of 2022 by the above 38.963 applications increased. In detail you can see that 22.665 applications for electric cars, 16.293 applications for plug-in hybrids and five funding applications for fuel cell vehicles. In the applications for E-cars as well as plug-in hybrids you could find a significant decline in applications. Since February 2020 there is more money when an electric car under a list price of 40.000 Euro is acquired. 6.000 Euro instead of 4.000 Euro will now be reimbursed by the purchase price. At plug-in hybrids in this price range, there will be 4 in the future.500 euros instead of 3.000 EURO. For electric cars with a list price over 40.000 Euro will be the subsidy for pure E cars in the future at 5.000 Euro lie, for plug-in hybrids at 4.000 EURO.

The premium will be borne in the same parts by the federal government and the manufacturer. For hybrid vehicles, however, it should be noted if this can be loaded on the socket or not. Thus, the environmental bonus merges only for the so-called plug-in hybrid. In addition, it is now fact that the purchase bonus has been doubled for the purchase of air conditioning and environmentally friendly electric vehicles. The intended increase in electric car purchase premium up to 9.000 Euro is retroactive to 4. June, so the day of the decision, entered into force. It is important to think that only the share of the Federal Government was doubled. The manufacturers remain faithful to their environmental bonus share.

Applications for applicants in detail in January 2022

As the requested applications are distributed in detail, we learned in one of the previous sections. Interesting, however, is the fact who actually represents the applications for the environmental bonus. The application for the purchase bonus for E-cars can be provided by both private individuals, as well as companies, foundations, corporations and associations. The relationship between companies to individuals continues to retain a slightly stronger characteristic of the benefit of companies. Generally, the focus on companies may be because there is a tax relief for electric service cars. Because the Federal Council has approved the promotion of electric vehicles proposed by the Federal Government in the company. The company car control was also, with effect from 31. July 2019, extended until the end of 2030 and even lowered to 0.25 percent points.

Environmental bonus ranking manufacturers and models in January 2022

Looking at the number of applications for the environmental bonus according to the manufacturer, the following picture results in January 2022: At the forefront of the new year is Volkswagen with 168.004 applications that were made for Stromer from their home. With this number of applications made, the German car manufacturer is significantly from the competition. Behind it Mercedes-Benz reins the beginning of 2022 to 111.166 requested applications brought. BMW in his part was 2022 with 98.449 applications start on the electrical purchase bonus. Both manufacturers is the same that the largest share of applications from plug-in hybrids.

Unchanged follows 2022 Renault with 96.078 Contributions – whereby these have now recovered a little towards BMW. Tesla ranked number five with 63.009 requested applications for the environmental bonus / purchase premium. Hyundai (62.862), Audi (62.311) and Smart (52.048) Subsequently, follow.   1. It is also clear if the manufacturer will not deliver that the numbers and applications go back. In the meantime we have in the VW Group on average 9-12 months delivery time. Of course, this is also noticeable in the applications. Not everyone can or wants to afford a Tesla. Generally, cheap electricity vehicles are particularly difficult to get.

  2. I would tap on the fact that the high electricity price has spoiled the merchant and especially in winter is the own PV system no help.
