Aral creates new board posts for e-mobility-board

Aral is leading with good 2400 gas stations in the most important European petrol station market. And depends more and more on the drive turning. With the e-mobility brand “Aral Pulse”, the company wants to rise to the leading providers of powerful ultra-fast load points. In order to map the growing importance of electromobility organizationally, Aral has created a new board post.

The 47-year-old manager Alexander boy was appointed at the end of June with immediate effect on the Management Board of Aral AG and is responsible for the increasingly important business area of electromobility, so the gas station operators in a recent communication. He becomes third member of the Executive Board next to the Chairman Patrick Wendeler, which represents the petrol station business, and Christiane Giesen, which is responsible for the power and fuel wholesaling and the LPG business.

“Alexander boy has been conducting our growing e-mobility business since 2019 and is responsible for building the ultrafast charging infrastructure under the Aral Pulse brand. That we are now creating an own board position for e-mobility, emphasizes important importance for our business, “said Patrick Wendeler, Chairman of the Management Board of Aral AG. Aral is currently building ultra-fast charging columns with up to 350 kilowatts at their petrol stations – by the end of 2021 500 charging points should be at more than 120 Aral stations on the net. In addition, cooperation with VW is planned to further accelerate the expansion of ultrafast charging stations to Aral petrol stations in Germany and BP gas stations in other European countries.

Young studied business administration in Bayreuth and began his career in 1998 at ESSO AG. After various features at ExxonMobil, Lufthansa, Societe Generale and HGM Energy, he has been working in the BP Group since 2011. There he was initially until 2018 head of Air BP’s airport for North, Central and Western Europe, after which he was responsible for the global development of new mobility solutions, including an electromobility project in India. He takes over the board mandate in addition to his previous tasks.
