BMVI funding guideline sponsors more than 30.000 public charging points-guideline

The BMVI funding guideline for public charging infrastructure was completed on schedule after three years: since 2017, municipalities, public institutions, companies and private individuals have been able to have the Federal Ministry of Transport fund the construction of publicly accessible charging points in the federal funding program charging infrastructure for electric vehicles – on parking lots, at sports fields or supermarkets, in towns – and city centers. A budget of 300 million euros was available for this. Record: 30.883 charging points were approved, including 9849 fast charging points with a charging capacity of more than 22 kW. 11.488 The charging points are already in operation, nearly 20.000 charging points will be added in the future.

By the middle of the year, the Federal Agency for Administrative Services (BAV) will complete the federal funding program managed by the National Charging Infrastructure Control Center as the project sponsor. The final number of approved charging points can still change slightly due to withdrawn approvals, both on the part of the applicant and on the part of the authorities. Data from the subsidized charging points on utilization, the power output and other variables are available to the National Charging Infrastructure Control Center and are included in the planning of new subsidy programs, among other things.

“The first nationwide funding program for public charging infrastructure is a success. With the charging points that have not yet been set up but have already been approved, we are creating a good basis for charging infrastructure in the public sector. This year and in the coming years, we will take account of the accelerated ramp-up of electric vehicles with the new edition of the federal funding program for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles and other funding and financing programs, so that everyone in Germany can rely on a good charging infrastructure, no matter where they are.“ – Johannes Pallasch, spokesman for the management team of the National Control Center for Charging Infrastructure

The new edition of the federal funding program for charging infrastructure for electric vehicles is currently being developed and coordinated. A funding volume of 500 million euros is earmarked for this. The next call for funding is planned for spring 2021. In the future, too, both normal and fast charging infrastructure will be the subject of funding, so that all scenarios for the use of charging infrastructure in public spaces will be addressed.

  1. The question is how this support is provided. I’m interested in the practical use, not the statistics. Hit the first charging station in the Bad Soden car park yesterday,
out of order. The next at Lidl, no sign on it, but doesn’t work. looked on the internet,
    since 6. January broken.

I just wanted to get rid of the frustration.
