BMW IX3: Restart
BMW goes back into the electric offensive. The IX3, which is strong and resource -saving, marks the prelude to this. Soon further Stromer will follow his example. However, something is missing compared to the Tesla Model Y.
BMW has moved away from philosophy to construct electric cars like the i3 fundamentally differently than conventionally powered cars. The first thoroughbred current of the brand after the paradigm shift is called IX3, which, as the model name already says. In summer, the Munich car manufacturer starts the production of the e-model in China and initially supplies the first customers there. In the spring of 2021 it will also be in Germany at prices from around 70.000 euros available – minus electrical purchase bonus of 7500 euros it should then be 62.500 euros.
BMW IX3 to China until 2021 in Germany
The IX3 also stands for a new generation of the EDRIVE electro drive system from BMW, which should also be used in 2021 in the Inext and i4 models. Among other things, the car manufacturer promises a 30 percent increased power density of the engine for the now fifth generation, which is also characterized by an efficiency of 93 percent. For the first time, the Munich residents also do without the use of less frequently in the electric machine.
BMW In the case of the IX3, the motor provides 210 kW/286 hp and 400 Newton meters of torque
Advertizement case of the IX3 provides the motor 210 kW/286 hp and 400 Newton meters of torque. This is intended to achieve the rear-driven 2.2-tonner 100 km/h after 6.8 seconds and a maximum of 180 km/h. Teslas Model Y has considerable advantages – namely better driving performance and above all all -wheel drive. The gross 80 kWh battery of the BMW with 74 kWh of energy can be used according to NEFZ 520 and, according to the practical WLTP cycle, 460 kilometers of range. BMW gives the consumption to NEFZ with 17.5 and after WLTP with 18.5 kWh. In addition to the waiver of rare earths on the engine, according to the BMW, the cobalt content in the battery has also dropped by two thirds.

With alternating current, one-and-three-phase charging of the battery with up to 11 kW should be possible. Here, charging takes 100 % around seven and a half hours. Alternatively, it can be loaded under DC with up to 150 kW. Electricity for 100 kilometers can be pressed into the battery in 10 minutes, a charging of 0 to 80 percent should be possible in 34 minutes. Anyone who controls the speed charging pillars of Ionity on motorway tours pays only 29 cents per kilowatt hour as an IX3 customer.Like the X3, the i-variant should also offer dynamic driving characteristics, as you can expect from a representative of the Sports Activity Vehicles that chosen by BMW chosen by BMW. Guarantee for this are a vehicle focus, which is reduced by 7.5 centimeters, chassis modifications and the standard adaptive suspension with electrically regulated dampers. But all -wheel drive, as I said, lack the car.

Rich equipment
Optical peculiarities of the IX3 include an aerodynamically optimized outer skin. Aero trim also includes striking 19-inch wheels with a particularly low air resistance. These are already part of the basic equipment, which is also a panoramic glass roof, metallic paint, electrical tailgate, sports steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats, 3-zone automatic climate automatic, infotainment system with smartphone integration, navigation as well as DAB radio, spacer counting and many more Assistance systems. There is also a Bluetooth hands-free system and a cell phone shelf for wireless charging. The back seat can also be folded down in a ratio of 40:20:40. The trunk can be from 510 to 1.560 liters grow.Alternatively, BMW will offer the equipment for the IX3, which includes 20-inch wheels, adaptive LED headlights, sports seats, leather interior, premium sound, head-up display and much more.

17-18kWh
Consumes the IX3, about as much as a Renault Zoe ? Well, the consumption has always been cheated. Only, at 20 kWh instead of 18 kWh, we talk from 360 instead of 430km range for 70.000 €!
The WLTP was named-
Consumption, not the test consumption. This is actually slightly higher in the IX3 than with the Zoe, but surprisingly only slightly. In practice it will probably be around 20 kWh, i.e. a range of maximum approx. 370 km. That is very modest.
60/70.000 € for a test model.
E-cars and E infrastructure are simply not up to date. The loading times utopian. Each 2 or 3L diesel from BMW is more worlds than this one …
The comparison of e-cars with…
Diesel vehicles do not really make sense because these vehicles cannot be compared directly. On the one hand, electric vehicles are usually considerably superior in terms of performance. On the other hand, the lower reach and the charging duration in everyday life do not play a major role, since you always load electric cars when you stand anyway, while you have to go to the tank with burners.
Another alibi e-car more…
The IX3 has a more nicer consumption on paper than EQC and e-tron, which in itself is a performance worth recognizing. Nevertheless, efficiency is still significantly worse than that of Tesla Model Y from Tesla. An SUV burner body simply does not allow a vehicle with low power consumption and optimized range. If BMW does not soon let this nonsense be, the car manufacturer will have no chance against Tesla and VW in the long term.
Interesting
I am currently driving an X3 30D, the IX3 with the same equipment is € 5000 cheaper, company car tax or the 7.500 € bonus make it even more attractive. I don’t know if my new one will be a PHEV or an IX3, but it is slowly becoming interesting. And no I don’t let myself be converted to Tesla, I don’t want to lose any bumpers, steering wheels or anything else and a functioning service is also important to me
Very well!
Here we go. The federal and state governments for politicians are now being converted quickly. The green politicians in their journeys with the thick combustion engines of Audi and Mercedes from the driving readiness to have mental hells. But the German politicians are role models. Always at the forefront. As soon as all driving will have converted to electric vehicles in approx. 3 months, all the sellers, construction workers and all minimum wage earners will get electric cars. Only 62.500 €, a bargain. Oh yes, a tip for a golden future: stocks of cable drum manufacturers should go through the ceiling in the near future. 😉
