The Jaguar XE has been on the road since 2015 – time for a facelift. The British have upgraded their medium -class elements in particular on the inside.

Jaguar actually started with the Limousine XE to offer competitors such as the Audi A4, the 3 Series BMW or the C-Class from Mercedes. It didn’t work out. At least not in Germany. According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), the Jaguar XE only came to 1104 approvals throughout the past year, three quarters of them run as company cars. Now Jaguar is trying to get some thrust into the approval statistics with a facelift of the model introduced in mid -2015.

The changes in the interior have already failed much more clearly: everything looks fresher, valuable and more modern. Hard plastic was yesterday. The cockpital cover feels noble and pleasant. The arm runs were also designed new and softer. It is less good that the seat belts in the shoulder area cannot be adjusted and therefore occasionally nerves a little.

The optical closeness to the F-Type can be seen on the center console: Instead of a rotary wheel, the standard eight-speed automatic of ZF is now set with a lever in sports lift design.
