S-Class at half a price: This is how the new Mercedes C-Class drives

Driving report: Mercedes-Benz C-Class: Park in your head

Mercedes conjured up a small S-Class from the C-Class-at first glance you could think. How good is the new Baby Benz (from 33.558 euros) Really? We test three different variants.
Which is the most agile premium car of the middle class? Of course the 3 Series BMW. It has been like this for a long time, so far Audi A4 and Mercedes C-Class have been unable to change that. While Audi’s new A4 was postponed until 2015, the brand new C-Class is now starting-at the same time in four works in Germany, China, the USA and South Africa. And the Baby-Benz, which is technically partly related to the S-Class, should overtake the 3 in all matters this time.

The Swabians want to achieve this with an elegant design, reminiscent of the S-Class, new assistance systems such as (finally) a head-up display and of course with more sportiness and efficiency. The engines are smaller, there is only a six -cylinder in Europe and a hybrid version with 3.6 liters of average consumption. The decisive factor with the new Benz takes place in a completely different place. The first driving report of the Stuttgart hope bearer.

Where we are at the prices
How about if Mercedes simply lets the I-Pad-like screen leave out for an additional charge. Really elegant educational families no longer have a TV in the living room. This lower part of the media has been banned into the media room in the basement. Mercedes puts something like that in the center of one otherwise "validate" Interior. The solution that Audi found on the new TT is more stylish and flexible!
iPad or television?
You now have to decide whether it should be an iPad or a television. The screen is the central element for the passenger and an important element for the driver. Whether the screen should be installed in the dashboard or floating as with the C class is a matter of taste. The solution in the TT is neither stylish nor practical for the driver and, above all, not for the BF.
The screen is on the dashboard…
…An absolute imposition, something like that should be built into the dashboard. I had the W202, W203, now W204, but something like that doesn’t come into my house. In addition, the farce with the small series tank (41 liters!), Mercedes, others can do that better.
If he doesn’t…
After 5 years, it could be a real Mercedes again. Time will definitely show it.
The rust myth
You have probably no longer driven a Mercedes in the past 10 years if you have ever driven a Mercedes at all. The rust problems were only over a short period of time and these have been history for at least one decade.
When to learn the auto testers at site
Finally not to compare apples with pears! See what is already installed in Volvo and Lexus and what that costs the Benz extra. You might think that they had learned something about it after the ADAC manipulations, but apparently not!
