Elon Musk sees Tesla Cybertruck's final design and shares an update-cybertruck

There are quite a handful of electric trucks coming out this year and next. Including the Ford F-150 Electric, the Rivian R1T, the Lordstown Endurance and the GMC Hummer EV. However, there is still no talk about as much as the Tesla Cybertruck. And not just because it’s a Tesla acts, but mainly because of its controversial design. Many love it, many hate it.

One person who is obviously happy with the look is Elon Musk. The Tesla boss responded to a tweet released today by the Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley. Apparently he was able to inspect the Cybertruck in the design studio and he seems to be extremely happy with the final series look of the truck.

Of course, that’s not particularly surprising. What is surprising, however, is that we still haven’t seen any pictures of the final Cybertruck design. According to a Musk tweet from last year (below this paragraph), we should have seen the finished car by now.

It is very likely that the series optics will not differ too much from the look of the study. However, the truck will be a bit smaller. In a recent interview with stand-up comedian Joe Rogan, Musk said the series’ electric pickup will be around three percent smaller.

Much more important, however: the development of the car is almost complete. One reason for the delays is more the production facility. Giga Texas in Austin is still under construction.

On the Cybertruck order page, the end of 2021 is still the expected date for the start of production. This fits in with what Musk made on Joe Rogan’s podcast about this. He spoke of wanting to deliver some cybertrucks later this year. In general, the construction of the gigafactories is going on impressively quickly, so the schedule seems plausible.
