For the expansion of the e -car store network, over 100 billion euros are missing worldwide
Auto media portal.Net/Volkswagen Over 100 billion euros are missing for the expansion of the charging network worldwide
The number of electric cars is growing significantly, the number of charging station lags behind. This is by no means just a German or European problem.
A new study published by Siemens Financial Services (SFS) estimates the global investment gap, which will be needed to provide the charging network for electric vehicles in the next two years, to the equivalent of around 40 billion euros.
Charging stations do not grow with the number of cars
For the years 2024 to 2026, even exponential growth will become more than double (104.1 billion. Dollar / ca. 92 billion. Euro) predicted to build a charging infrastructure in the quality of the petrol station network. A good quarter of them are not available on Europe.
Now to the offer
Intelligent financing solutions based on uses that make investments and affordable would therefore be urgently needed, according to Kai-Otto Landwehr, head of the Commercial Finance business of Siemens Financial Services in Germany and CEO of Siemens Finance & Leasing GmbH. Through intelligent financing, for example through specialized private donors, the investment costs could be adapted to the expected cash flow of charging stations, so that the investment can be designed to be budget -neutral.
