Ford wants to go full throttle with the Mustang Mach-E-mach-e

Ford has announced a significant increase in production of its all-electric Mustang Mach-E. This is reported by “” citing various sources. It is said that the carmaker wants more than 200 a year.Run 000 copies off tape. That would be a threefold increase compared to 2021. “It is difficult to build the Mustang Mach-E so quickly to meet the incredible demand, but of course we will try,” said Ford boss Jim Farley. As it is said, the target only applies to North America and Europe and thus to the Mexican plant Cuautitlan – but not for production in China with the joint venture partner Changan.

Ford apparently has to adjust the plans for the Mexican plant for the increased quantities. According to information from “Automotive News”, the US manufacturer apparently wants to withdraw the planned production of two electric SUV series from Mexico. The all-electric Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator are to be built elsewhere – and reportedly not until the end of 2024 instead of mid-2023.

According to “” indicated: Lisa Drake, COO of Ford North America, had already spoken about the considerations in an interview last week. She is quoted as saying, “Our first priority right now is to scale production of the Mach-E in response to this demand.Several plants would be used for the future North American product range.

It goes on to say that Ford is apparently optimistic that it will have enough batteries for the Mustang Mach-E’s capacity expansion. With the Ford F-150 Lightning e-pickup, on the other hand, missing batteries would result in a reservation stop. “We will get the semiconductors, that’s a question of prioritization (…) compared to vehicles with internal combustion engines,” Farley is quoted as saying. Ford will do “whatever it takes” to double emissions. According to “” use cells from SK Innovation. The production of its own battery cells should therefore not start before 2025.

  1. A little thing in advance:
At the moment, even an author who has been baptized with petrol and is a driving school with horsepower should now use a metaphor other than “full throttle” … at least I have one in mind 😛
    Down to business:
When ford with the Mustang Mach-E and the upcoming F-150 Lightning as well as the Transit-E(!) really e-conversion may also be so successful there irreversible! Good luck 🙂

  2. And another report that the old car manufacturers are being overwhelmed by customer demand. A normal car user just doesn’t have that much gas in their blood and finds it easier to get around in a quieter, less smelly and more environmentally friendly way.
