With increasing interest in e-cars, throughout Europe, the need for matching charging solutions also increases. In particular, the charging technology of Heidelberger Printing Machinery AG (Heidelberg) is appealing. This is reflected in the sales figures of the Wallboxes of Heidelberg in Austria and Switzerland. So far, the company has been able to sell a mid-four-digit number of charging solutions in both countries.
Several times Heidelberg has increased the production capacities of Wallboxen, over the past two years were more than 50.000 of these charging stations built – as of July 2021. Some customers may not know that their electric car invites you to a Heidelberg Wallbox – as the company also provides you as a white label solution to several automakers, which you will then resell under its own name. Due to the internationally increasing demand for charging solutions for electric vehicles in the private sector, Heidelberg has again invested in the Wiesloch-Walldorf site and earlier as planned a fourth production line in the field of e-mobility.
The production capacities are thus constantly further increased. After doubling them at the beginning of the year. Due to the growing sales of Stromer and therefore the sales of charging solutions, in the field of electromobility at Heidelberg, is already well above the total volume planned for the current financial year 2021/22. Rainer HunddOrfer, CEO at Heidelberg, is as follows: “The development in our shop with charging technology is booming. Despite the non-smoothly functioning logistics chains, we are available and drifting with the expansion of our production growth in the field of electromobility continues.”
Further business areas in the field of loading infrastructure, electronics and software also has the company already in view. Supplied charging solutions are explicitly accessible to wallboxes that are designed for network services so that energy suppliers can control them in network bottlenecks and reduce performance; An application that is becoming increasingly important due to the growing distribution of electric cars. Also into the business with particularly fleets DC fast charging stations with up to 150 kW charging power Heidelberg wants to get in.
At the same time, new sales channels and regions are being established in Europe. In addition to Germany, Heidelberg already offers its charging solutions abroad in cooperation with local partners in Austria, Switzerland, France, Poland and Hungary. Further countries in Europe follow with the expansion of the business field.

Charging technology in the private and public sector will certainly be more in demand than printing machines in the next few years. One wonders why no major supplier offers complete solutions with solar energy on the roof and storage.
Bit of a bad time to expand production now that the funding has ended. I once hung a wall box in my garage, according to the motto: it’s better to have than to need it. The PHEV doesn’t “need” it, it was always full.
Even those who drive less than 200km a day with the BEV have a whole
normal outlet the car always full. Private wallboxes are especially one: one
Nice possibility for homeowners a conversation topic with the neighbor too
to have. In short, without getting you almost gifted, I would not have bought.
