Step by step, part of the fleet of Coca-Cola European Partners Deutschland GmbH (CCEP) by supporting Hyundai Motor Germany GmbH is switched to electric vehicles. At the beginning of July 2021, the first E vehicles, in the form of the Hyundai Kona Electric, were already handed over to Coca-Cola employees.
As the car manufacturer gave to understand annually, up to 200 Hyundai Kona Electric to Coca-Cola employees are handed over, the agreement initially runs until 2024. Both the variants with the 64 kWh high-performance battery, which has a 150 kW / 204 hp electric motor, are available as well as the Kona Elektro with a 39.2 kWh battery and 100 kW / 136 hp strong electric motor. Tobias Krumnikl, Department Manager Commercial Customers & Used Car Strategy by Hyundai Motor Germany, expressed itself as follows: “We are very pleased that we were able to win an important new customer and image carrier for the Hyundai brand with Coca-Cola European Partners Germany. Especially with regard to the choice of Kona Elektro we see ourselves in our strong market position as a leading provider of attractive electric vehicles with a very good price-performance ratio and excellent quality also confirmed for the fleet area.”
Hans-Jurgen Tost, national fleet of Coca-Cola European Partners Germany, in turn gives you to understand how Coca-Cola has made the decision for Hyundai: “We have currently examined available E models on ranges, functionality and cost-effectiveness. We have come to the decision that at the present time the Hyundai Kona electro is one of the best offers.”
In total, the fleet of the CCEP in Germany comprises 3.000 vehicles from the segments heavy trucks, forklifts, vans and cars. By 2025, also with the help of Hyundai Motor Germany around 2.300 company cars and small commercial vehicles are converted to emission-free electric vehicles. CCEP wants to be climate-neutral in Europe until the year 2040 and consistently focuses on reducing emissions as far as possible. The conversion to electric vehicles in Germany is a consistent and important step.
