IMEC doubles the energy density of its solid-state batteries-energy

With this solid nano composite electrolyte in combination with a standard lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) cathode and a lithium metal anode, the company now has an improved battery with an energy density of 400 Wh / liter at a charging speed of 0 , 5C (2 hours) made, a record combination for a solid state battery. IMEC was able to double the results of the previous year within one year and follows the timetable to finally dense over 1.000Wh / liter at a charging speed of 2-3c (less than half an hour) to achieve.

In addition to the further development of its own technology, IMEC also works on the scaling of its own processes and products to drive them towards serial maturity. The new pilot line, which is located on the Energyville Campus and is built together with the University of Hasselt, enables the production of prototypes of bags with a capacity of up to 5 ah.
