KfW Wallbox Promotion: Applications for 470.000 charging points placed-charging

The Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau (KfW) is currently viewing more than 470.000 Applications for promoting a private charging station, such as the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) to report in early May 2021. The demand seems unbroken, therefore the decision also falls up the funding.

The promotion of private charging stations for electric cars at residential buildings is once again increased by another 100 million euros and thus renewed again. Thus, Germany creates a big step for the private charging infrastructure. Overall, half a billion euros are available to federal funds.

“We want more climate protection, more clean E cars on our roads and more use of green electricity. All this we achieve with our highly successful program for private loading wallboxes. Already we promote around 470.000 new charging points. We also get the pot again for another 100 million euros. Overall half a billion euros for the charging infrastructure at home. The enormous demand for the 900 Euro subsidy shows that we are equipped with our program.”- Andreas Scheuer, Federal Minister of Transport

We remember: on the 24. November starts the promotion program announced at the beginning of October for the installation of private charging stations on residential buildings. Per loading point, there is a grants program of the State Funding Bank KfW Package 900 Euro. In mid-February, in a mathematically, 214 million euros of the funding volume actually used on 200 million euros are reported. The federal government responded accordingly and increased the funding volume to 300 million euros. Not even a month later, another 100 million euros will be fed into the funding pot. Overall, 400 million euros are now available to federal funds. Now the BMVI has increased by another 100 million euros.

In the past, we were able to learn that the applications are usually approved easily if the application requirements are available. The payment of the funding amount is only then, if within nine months of application, both the purchase of the wallbox and the installation and commissioning can be detected on the basis of invoices. Alone the acquisition of the wallbox is not enough.

For the KfW grant, some basic prerequisites apply: The Wallbox must be brand new, have a charging power of 11 kW, be firmly installed and listed on the list of funded charging stations of the KfW Bank responsible for the disbursement. In addition, the charging point – with regard to network service – must be intelligent and controllable. The stream he releases to the electric car must be proven to be eco flow. The promotion must be requested before the charging station is ordered, and will be paid out after completion of the project.

With regard to the payment of the actual funding, KfW has not wanted to comment. Guesses suggest that a part of the approved funds will expire because the installation is not within nine months. Especially in multi-family houses, this could fail that the necessary decisions are not taken in time or the installation work can not be completed. It is only known that around 385.000 Applications for around 470.000 charging points have been received.

  1. Many can already be installed a wallbox, even though they have no electric car yet. But so the inhibition threshold is lower for the purchase.

  2. And what would be what it’s already, if I put my wallbox with a community parts on reciprocity where it is possible! But legally a business if I pay for it, is not so easy, but would bring a lot of charging opportunity on a hit.

  3. Yes, the scrub of the CSU is talking about wallboxes, infrastructure for wallboxes and charging columns and the chancellor candidate of his sister party Lashet, talking about electric car is not the future (goes an e-car), one “must remain technique” ….Wonderfully like these parties and their (especially gentlemen) in the ground and ground, before such an important general election like those in Sept. this year! Who has pushed the (almost everything)? ┼âury a party, with a woman as Chancellor candidate this year, the fresh wind promises and also holding in the energy transition. The further propulsion in the infrastructure of wallboxes, charging columns (hopefully finally unified what the payment is concerned) is done according to a Mr. Scheuer, by his successor. As a Minister of Economics a Mr. Wissing of the FDP, which I am in a government from GREEN, FDP and ? wish.
