Loading on the road: It's fast expensive on the pillar-expensive

It is still one of the weighty arguments for the change: E-cars are in the acquisition expensive – much cheaper in maintenance. No car tax, hardly maintenance, little wear. But long-term, the model is paying only if the cost of electricity does not constantly increase. At the charging columns, however, the trend shows up. Many providers demand significantly more than the price of the home socket.

“Especially in public stations you have to say now: it depends on it.”, Quoted” time.de “Matthias Vogt, expert for e-mobility at the ADAC. “On what city you live, how often you use a quick loading column – and how well you can find yourself in the jarwar of different tariff options.”As a survey of the Fraunhofer Institute shows from which the sheet reports, more than half of the charging operations takes place at home, a quarter of the employer and not every fifth public charging columns. “But in the future, the public shop will become more important,” says Uta Burghard, who has compiled the study.

The EU has just doubted that electric cars are the future. The European Commission has introduced its plans to do not allow cars from 2035 to discharge cars, the CO2 eject. In addition, various manufacturers have announced that for combustion models. If you can not load home or at the employer, you have to avoid public stations. But that is a price. Costs Household Current in Germany to the 32 cents per kilowatt hour, up to 20 cents surcharge will be due on normal charging columns, even up to 45 cents on quick loaders.

Companies explain that with high investment. “A larger charging park with solar roof costs a six- to seven-digit amount”, quoted “time.de “a speaker of EnBW. In addition, it is expensive to maintain the pillars regularly and to operate a 24-hour hotline. Everything is so far in advance. The company expects a positive annual balance sheet in the field of e-mobility in the mid-decade. Competitor Ionity – An association of multiple large car members – has invested in Europe in 400 fast load parks at the main axis axes. These investments are reflected in the price. The price for a kilowatt hour is up to 79 cents, accordingly it can cost more than 60 euros to charge a vehicle with a large battery.

The charging column operators point out that a large part of the price is not angry at all. In fact, the electricity price is only about one quarter from the cost of production and sales. Another quarter will receive the network operators for use. Taxes and duties make up half. This also includes the EEG surcharge with which the Federal Government wants to promote renewable energies.

The real reason for the differences may be that individual providers in certain cities and regions have almost a monopoly with the charging columns. Since the operators so far are not required to give access to other electricity providers, the customer must accept their tariff teeth or pay roaming fees. The Bundeskartellamt has the topic in view, but decisions are still out. Currently there are nearly 400 price models for charging current, the consulting house Eupd found out in April. This is difficult for the mess with mobile communications.

  1. Nobody has helped if the operators of the charging columns write red numbers. A black zero should you already grant you. But since we all do not know what the true operating costs are, we can only speculate here in blue.
Only a small remark to the ionity price and the 60 € for a full charge of a battery in the article. I still have a SLK as a lover vehicle. He has an 80 l-tank. If I do not have the right now I have more than 100 €. On the roadside, the loading of ionity is not more expensive during the current gasoline prices, as the refueling with a SLK. Everything a question of viewing angle.

  2. And what about reality for the customer? I have two loading cards (one if you should strike the main card for some reason).

AC Loading: Close to the map Loading for 39ct / kWh, DC load 49ct / kWh. To Ionity I do a bow. With this I only pay in the event that I’m on the road as the reach of the car as much as before with the burner. Otherwise less.

I do not feel as a wirer, but pretty relaxed that I always knows what the charge will cost me.

  3. Apparently, it must give charging stations in large numbers like petrol stations, so that current on the way from the production to the charging column is not more expensive than gasoline or diesel.

Under a 7-day old article I have set this comment.

Electricity performance costs of the eco-electricity of about 4 cents per kWh (large plants).

Crude oil about 50 euros per barrel (159 liters), about 0.31 euros per liter of crude oil.

Petrol price about 1.55 euros – so 5 times the crude oil price.

If the price of crude oil is more expensive to the gas station by 500%, with all the trimmers and turn, why not even at the eco flow only by 500% surcharge?

4 cents per kWh from the PV system If 20 cents per kWh were at the charging column, if it was as similar as the path from crude oil to gasoline at the gas station.

Who earns on the charging current “Pork“?

Even with a doubling on the way from the PV or wind turbine to the charging column towards the path of crude oil to the gas station, we would be at only 40 cents per kWh – where the money is hanging?

  4. I am currently a functioning offer is much more important than the price.
I save so or so money compared to the internal combustion engine and who rides a lot of long route attacks anyway to Tesla and has good prices to the SUCS

It is important that more cheap & available loading options are created for Lanternarker. Otherwise, the emotion is probably stuck somewhere at 50% market share.

Oje, the poor, from which planet are the? – To go in advance for his products is the most normal for an enterprise to maintain the infrastructure and a customer service too!

  6. I also see the price development very critical. Of course, investments need to pay attention, but the store must also stay attractive. Structure point would be reducing government charges instead of promoting the construction. Or obligation on reasonable price models as a condition of state funding.
Important is also the easy access. ADAC and ENBW were good with their unit tariffs … Today I pay depending on whether it’s a separate or foreign pillar. And tariff adaptation was in the clear double-digit% area.
The Tesla system is still unbeaten … there is a manufacturer – even he makes certainly many mistakes – holistically thought and traded: hardware, software and infrastructure. Unfortunately, this is still off the hardware-oriented manufacturers in this country. And it does not help if even in the VW Group brands-specific solutions are being pursued. We do not need a luxury lounge, but a functioning and available charging column that recognizes the car when the plug is!

  7. Who believes all first, with this Kuddelmuddel you could sell e-car even if all the subsidies have fallen away? This whole hype is how much highly polished in Germany. The reality is seen for me a disaster. https: // youtu.be / g5ojm3ssb5u . A chaos on norms, charging cables, every “provincial championship” does what he wants. The customer but only wants to drive driving, often because he just has to drive and arrive punctually. No matter what weather and everywhere where today’s automobiles have to drive. Who who knows the scene is talking about this and though why? Crys gasoline and diesel, but the juice is getting everywhere around the globe. You have to catch up with this lead and we are removed by light years or want to wrap the whole world with copper cables? Normal fuel fits in a simple canister for distress and you get in at A. of the world. Even without app and computer game. Fans are the feet flat, driving irrevoids, for a few hundred km you need navigation plans and then? Then the columns are often occupied or not compatible. Not to talk that they do not work from case to case. Iron buzz for a car technique from the previous yesterday. Right, you have to be a real fan. Almost every post-war cart runs across Europe faster and more efficiently. And who says that would not be right?
