Mercedes-Benz E-Class 4matic Cabriolet: For the windy time of the year
Site author Marcel Sommer
Mercedes-Benz lets the sun in again and completes its current e-series with the Cabriolet. From wind force zero to twelve on the buyer scale, everything is possible.
But that was also high time. The temperatures are already climbing to over 30 degrees even in the small French Alpine towns. The moving ice men almost need money storage a la Dagobert Duck and the neighbors enjoy their convertible trips in short shirts and with sunscreen residues on the face. The time could hardly be more perfect, Mercedes-Benz rolls his last missing E-Class son onto the street, the Cabriolet. And since it is not spilled, but primarily clogged, the E 400 4MATIC with 333 V6-PS for at least 70.282 euros and 40 cents including all -wheel drive ready. It works with 54.228 euros and 30 cents of course also cheaper. However, thanks to the late market launch, the summer has already become short enough, the 184 hp of the E 200 can stay calm in the showroom in addition to the E 300, the E 350 D 4Matic and the entry -level diesel E 220 D with 194 hp.
In 5.5 seconds to 100 km / h
At the first sprint up to 100 km / h at the first sprint, it can be seen that this quite clumsy and of course a little exaggerated decision has its justification. After 5.5 seconds, not only has the digital speedometer needle on the huge screen in the three-strong, known from the E-Class family. The driver’s corners of the mouth also got momentum, while the passenger’s hands protect themselves over her main hair in order to at least make the hurricane you are expecting a little resistance. However, and that becomes very quickly aware of it, this is not necessary at all. Because with a single finger movement gen central console, both the wind gaps between the two headrests of the fund seats and the electrical Aircap wind base system drive out. From a wind force twelve on the baaustort scale, almost a lull. Too bad, the strong wind made at least a bit that the whole pollen remains away from the piano lacquer.
Mercedes Benz Up to speed 50, the top can be operated.
Advertisement with high -driven window panes is still a little fresh around the neck, which will enjoy every further meter with the activated headroom heating Airscarf Open Air. If all of this is not enough to take the wind out of the hair up to three passengers, there is no way past the most important switch of the entire Mercedes-Benz E 400 4MATIC Cabriolets.
The top needs 20 seconds
The switch that is responsible for opening and closing the fabric cover with a glass pane. After 20 seconds and up to 50 km / h, the weakest breeze is also banished from the interior. Now there is also doldrums on the back, anything but cheap places. However, the hairstyle is not yet completely out of danger, should the passengers in the rear also reach the 1.90 meter height in the rear.
Mercedes Benz There are two adults in the back.
Unlike the wind, the driving pleasure cannot be locked out so quickly. The steering is too precise, too agile the chassis, even very comfortable in sports mode. The open E 400 looks like a brisk sedan – just on request without a roof. And that’s exactly how a convertible has to feel. At the same time, hardly any sentence is lost via the trunk volume and storage space, since convertibles are naturally playing in the league of unnecessary fun vehicles. At the Mercedes e Cabriolet, this time surprisingly looks a little different this time. 385 liters in the closed state can already be seen. Thanks to the ratio of 50:50, however, there is a cross -loading option for the first time. Correctly through, namely a potent V8-benzimotor, could perhaps even in the near future.
