It’s announced, but now it’s official MINI no longer just stands for driving fun, but also for a lastingly fascinating experience. The MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 is the first model in which a plug-in hybrid drive opens up the possibility of purely electric and therefore locally emission-free mobility and impresses with sporty agility and sovereign versatility. The combination of a three-cylinder petrol engine and a synchronous electric motor generates a system output of 165 kW/224 hp.
With this combination, the MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 appeals above all to those who want to take advantage of purely electric mobility when commuting daily between home and work. At the weekend and on longer journeys, the driver then benefits from the unrestricted long-distance suitability of the vehicle.
“The plug-in hybrid drive is a perfect match for the new MINI Countryman, because it offers an intelligent all-wheel drive concept and can also be driven purely electrically in urban areas, but also over longer distances. This is unique in this segment” – Uwe Seitz, Project Manager MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4
The MINI Cooper has a purely electric range of up to 40 kilometers and can reach a top speed of 125 km/h. If only one of the two motors is used when driving, the second can be switched on at any time to optimize traction, driving stability and agility.
So that the electric motor also has enough power, the lithium-ion high-voltage battery is located directly in front of it, below the rear bench seat. This consists of five modules, each with 16 battery cells, and is manufactured at the Dingolfing plant, like the electric motor. The high-voltage battery has a capacity of 7.6 kWh. The battery can be fully charged within 2:15 hours on a wall box with a charging capacity of 3.6 kW. 3:15 hours must be allowed for charging at a conventional household socket.

The battery on the Mini should be min. 40 kW to get around 100 km purely electrically.
It’s good that the trucks are also dealing with the electric drive. The battery weight is not as crucial there as in the car. You should also start urgently with shipping. But finally forgot the hydrogen because of poor efficiency.
