The Mini is getting a moderate facelift. This also applies to the electric version of the three-door model called Mini Cooper SE. To see the changes right away, you have to be an expert, especially since the Mini can be customized in many details anyway.

However, there are some visible changes.

So there are new side scuttles – these are the small elements on the front fenders that contain the side indicators. The turn signals themselves are now made using LED technology:

At the rear, the rear fog light is now integrated into the rear apron as a narrow LED unit. It is very inconspicuous because we did not find it in the pictures. The rear lights in Union Jack design are now also standard. With the exception of the reversing lights, all rear lights now work with LED technology.

The two-tone optics with contrasting colors on the roof and mirror caps remain natural. In addition to the colors Jet Black, Aspen White and Melting Silver, there is now the new Multitone Roof with a color gradient from dark blue to light blue to black. Due to the new painting technology, every roof looks a little different.

There are also three new exterior colors: Rooftop Gray metallic, Island Blue metallic and Zesty Yellow. As components of the Piano Black Exterior option, in addition to the bezels for the headlights, the radiator grille and the rear lights, the door handles, the side scuttles, the fuel filler flap, the mini logos on the bonnet and the luggage compartment lid as well as the model lettering and the tailpipes of the exhaust system are now included in high-gloss black. There are five new versions of the wheels.

According to Mini, the "inner housing" of the LED headlights is no longer chrome, but black. Mini probably means the ring around the headlights.

Optionally there are adaptive LED headlights with cornering lights, matrix high beam and bad weather lights. If there is oncoming traffic, one or more LED segments are switched off from a speed of 70 to avoid dazzling. In bad weather lights, which are activated by a button, the low beam is supplemented by a dimmed cornering light.

The changes in the cockpit (using the example of the Cooper S)

Inside, the number of chrome elements has been reduced. The two outer, round air outlets are now framed by black panels. The inner vents have been completely redesigned and installed flush.

The central instrument should now also have a higher quality effect. An 8.8-inch color display with touch function, touch-sensitive favorite buttons and surfaces in piano black are now standard. A new sports leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons is also standard on board. A nappa leather variant is part of the equipment packages John Cooper Works Trim, Mini Yours Trim and Mini Electric Trim. Steering wheel heating is also available for the first time.

The Mini Cooper SE has a 5.0-inch color display in the instruments as standard, which shows all driving-related information as well as check control messages and status displays from the driver assistance systems. In the electrically powered Mini, it also serves as a charge status indicator while charging.
