Peugeot presents electric transporter E-Boxer-presents

Peugeot presents its new electric transporter E-Boxer. With the fully electric model, companies retain unrestricted access to city centers and benefit from low maintenance costs. The Peugeot E-Boxer is available with two battery variants, the larger one reaches a range of up to 340 kilometers to WLTP. The new Peugeot E-Boxer comes in the fourth quarter 2020 on the European market. The model is produced in the Italian plant in Cal di Sangro. Thanks to four lengths, three heights, multiple body forms and a wide range of driver assistance systems, the transporter can be configured exactly to the corresponding needs.

The new Peugeot E-Boxer offers up to 1890 kg the same payload as the burner. The same applies to the loading volume with 8 cubic meters to 17 cubic meters, as the battery is installed space-saving in the underbody. Based on three wheels (3 m, 3.45 m and 4.04 m), there is the box carriage in five different sizes that differ in length (L1 to L4) and height (H1 to H3). So every company finds the appropriate variant. In addition, the e-boxer for specific claims is also available in other versions: chassis with single cabin in the lengths L2, L3 and L4; Chassis with double cabin in length L3; Platform chassis with single cabin in the lengths L3 and L4.

The e-boxer offers a torque of 260 nm from the start with a maximum power of 90 kW (122 hp). Thanks to the electric motor, the van moves almost vibration and noiseless. The powertrain also wins energy back (recuperation) when the pedal is released or the brake is pressed. The maximum speed is 110 km / h and 90 km / h for the 4-ton variant.

The two lengths L1 and L2 are equipped with a lithium-ion battery with 37 kWh. Thus, the Peugeot E-Boxer achieves a range of up to 200 kilometers (still in the test process) to WLTP. In the lengths L3 and L4, a 70 kWh strong battery is installed. With her, the Peugeot E-Boxer drives up to 340 kilometers (still in the test process) without recharging. In the body variant “Chassis” the larger battery is already integrated from the length L2.

For loading, the Peugeot E-Boxer is compatible with sockets of type 2 and CCS (for fast loading with DC). The transporter is designed as standard with a double board charger for 1-phase (7 kW) and 3-phase (22 kW) loading.

The new Peugeot E-Boxer retains the striking design of the burners and differs from the outside only through two lettering: “E-boxer” on the back door and “E” above the front left wheel box. To the left of the driver’s door is the charging connection. In the interior of the new Peugeot E boxer, many innovations are shown by the electric drive. Instead of a shift lever, for example, right under the instrument cluster are three buttons with which the driving mode is selected.

New is also the inner mirror, in which numerous information is easily illustrated. So the driver or the driver knows only a look around the state of charge of the battery, the remaining range, the tension, the current strength and the driving mode. Around the clear combined instrument, the Peugeot E-Boxer offers numerous practical shelves and subjects.

  1. Nice, a WLTP of 340km is sufficient for most package services. The vehicles also have the usual size.

Incomprehensible is still for me why power connections are placed on the driver’s side. If this may not matter on a depot, it is loaded on the street, the cable must always be around the car during correct parking. This also shows the photo very nice.
