Although a number of drivers believe that diesel vehicles are more cost-efficient than plug-in hybrids, this is not always the case. We present three hybrid cars that are even cheaper.

Plug-in hybrids are able to cover certain routes purely electrically. However, the current generation of these vehicles is not yet convincing in practice . It is more sensible-if you do not mainly drive long distance-should be the next PHEV generation in which higher electrical ranges are possible. So it depends heavily on the route profile whether a hybrid or rather a diesel makes sense. Basically the following applies: the more often you cover short distances, the more is the plug hybrid – provided you can also charge it. When it comes to price and maintenance costs, some models are already cheaper than their diesel counterpart. And: The part-time power streams guarantee free travel in all diesel ban zones. Germany’s largest electric car portal site has tested the cars.

BMW 225XE IPERMAURANCE Active Tourer: Optimal for city drivers

The hybrid 2 Series Active Tourer with all -wheel drive is 39.650 euros a good 900 euros more expensive than its diesel counterpart, the Active Tourer 220D, can compensate for this with lower fixed costs and environmental bonus. According to the German automotive magazine Auto Motor Sport, e-drivers come a year with a leasing price of 6.156.12 euros, fuel, electricity and vehicle taxes at a total of 7.221.12 euros a year. If you calculate the annual fixed costs for the 220d Active Tourer, you get over 200 euros more. Car taxes are particularly important here. With the BMW 225XE, these are only 30 euros, for the diesel model at 234 euros.

The hybrid fifth door has a purely electrical range of 39 kilometers and can achieve a top speed of 202 kilometers per hour. The BMW is electrically supported up to km / h. With 224 hp, the 225xe needs just 6.7 seconds from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour. The 220d cannot keep up. The sporty hybrid is suitable for average commuters who do not have to cover long motorway routes. In combustion mode, the 225xe has a comparatively high consumption. It is simple and comfortable in the interior. The only drawback is the relatively small trunk with a capacity of 400 liters. Now test drive the BMW 225xe IPERMAURANCE Active Tourer for free!

Mercedes E 300 DE T-model: Low fixed costs

Like the BMW 225XE, the list price of the hybrid Mercedes E 300 DE is above the diesel variant, the Mercedes E 300 D T. Thanks to the state purchase bonus of 3.E-drivers pay 000 euros instead of the original 57.566.25 euros only 54.566.25 euros and lie with the diesel model (54.365.15 euros) almost par. The annual fixed costs amount to a total of 11 with full-service leasing, fuel and tax at the five-door combination.501.86 euros. With the Mercedes E 300 D T you have a good 800 euros less in your pocket in comparison. You can see an Efahrer test of the car in the video.

The Hybride Mercedes E-Class is powered by an electric motor with 90 kilowatts (122 hp) and a combustion engine with 143 kilowatts (194 hp). With a system output of 306 hp and a maximum torque of 700 Newton meters, the plug-in hybrid accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 6 seconds. According to Mercedes, the purely electrical range is even 52 kilometers, but in practice it tends to be less. With a battery capacity of 13.5 kilowatt hours, the battery is recharged at a household socket in five hours. With a full battery, the total consumption in our self -test was 3.8 liters on the first 100 kilometers. With the Mercedes E 300 DE, too, the trunk space of the battery has to give way and reduces 370 liters.

Volvo V60 T8: Especially company car drivers benefit

Motorists can save on the Volvo plug-in hybrid as successfully with the plug-in hybrid. The Volvo V60 T8 belongs with a list price of 60.350.01 euros in the upper price category and is therefore a good 15.000 euros more expensive than the diesel variant Volvo V60 D5. The partial electrical station wagon for company car drivers is really worthwhile, since instead of one percent only half, i.e. 0.5 percent, the list price must be taxed. With a gross content of 6 assumed by Auto Motor Sport. In the case of the Volvo V60 T8, only 301.50 euros are lost, while the diesel model has even 452 euros less.

Driving behavior for fuel consumption decisive

Of course, the state purchase premium of SOAR4500 instead of 3000 euros, the tax reduction to 0.5 percent for Tuesday car drivers and the relatively small fixed costs can be brought out a lot in terms of price. The fact is, however, that the performance and extent of the fuel savings depend on the driving behavior. Commuters who regularly cover long distances on the highway and like to press the accelerator pedal will not save much on fuel. In this case, the electric drive is rarely used. However, if the daily commute does not consist of more than 30 kilometers and predominantly city trips or country roads, costs can be saved with a plug-in hybrid-and the whole thing is more environmentally friendly. This article was written by Franziska Albrecht

  1. Experience Mitsubishi Outlander Phev

I had the opportunity to load at home. In 3.5 hours I had a range of 41 km again. In winter if the heating runs, the range is only half left. In summer where the air conditioning is running the same. So it is best to drive in spring and in autumn. The consumption is really 2.5 liters without a long distance. With pure gasoline operation below 7 liters to 130/km/h. This is very little for an almost two tons and four -wheel drive!!!. The car was sold because I frozen to "death" in winter. The second reason was that I was not ready for 8000 € for an 8 year old car for new battery.

  2. Funny: plug-in hybrid with a mega rapid dummy
What makes sense if there are large-fitting rapies on the rear of a plug-in hybrid? Furthermore, I question it really makes sense to place the charging socket with a plug-in hybrid. It is easy to forget to pull the plug when you are loading.

  3. You can’t drive,
As long as the charging plug is not pulled off. With my plugin there is then no passage and he has the load socket in front of the left. The exhaust is almost invisible under the rear bumper.

  4. Hybrid is good for the workshop
And as a company car. Hybrid vehicles have to be serviced as regularly as normal cars with an explosion engine, which is good for the workshop. That receives many jobs. Company cars are only taxed by 0.5 % and the company costs the company. The employee has no disadvantage if he does not unpack the cable. The € 3000 purchase bonus and half the tax rate (0.5 %) are a pure purchase incentive for company cars, without an advantage for the environment. Some auto testers even speak of a significant "additional consumption" . That’s cheating! That is why Norway and Holland have long since abolished the funding. But our car lobbyist Chancellor Ms. Merkel sees it very differently, she only talks about environmental protection, but does exactly the opposite.

  5. The invoice changes
When the car gets older and all the additional technology including the battery must then be renewed. With leasing it is EAL. But for "conventional" Car buyers are also the current value and the susceptibility to the correction and costs is also relevant. The battery is z.B. A very expensive part of the wear. The cut of the vehicles in D is currently 9.5 years old. Now explain to these owners of 10 year old cars that they should just put on 10 thousand for a new battery. is not done, and the car is only a hybrid for the battery life, then a normal combustion engine with plenty of extra weight.

  6. So much extra technology is not installed at all!
Under the back seat or in the underbody of the battery. Otherwise the hybrid is a normal petrol engine. The largely wear-free electric motor is installed in the engine transmission unit. My father’s hybrid has been running without any problems for 15 years with the first battery. Apart from a large Ami cart, I have had the highest maintenance and repair costs so far with the diesel.

  7. I shall
In any case, order my e next time as hybrid diesel. The advantages are obvious. Consumption, performance and costs bring me a great advantage. In addition, I only have to tax 0.5%!! This is actually the biggest advantage for me because I can really save money privately with it. We are only except here in Germany like Christmas geese anyway!! The federal government, or. Mutti Merkel has neither a coherent concept in terms of the future of energy policy, nor can you rely on someone in the government otherwise. I hope that reason will soon return with a new Chancellor and on clean environmentally friendly energy sources such as Z.B. Nuclear power. Overall only ridiculous what is going on here in Germany!!

  8. In addition comes
You don’t have to charge the battery. You can take your driving program with you, unattended for driving ban zones, and then pass on the car with unused charging current cables-after 2.3 or 4 years. Germany’s anti-atom and pro-environmental chancellor of the beloved automotive industry in the Pro-Environmental decisions really really …

  9. Who only buys according to efficiency ?
But even if. My car is a diesel because I am the torque I.V.m. a DSG treasures. In terms of costs, a petrol engine would be cheaper, appropriate by the driving profile. But if it is up every three weeks "big ride" If I save, I save the time (and the motorway surcharge) for refueling and tearing 900km in one piece without any problems. The sample calculation is also contestable purely mathematical. If you only look at the money, you can be right with the short-distance profile with the e-mobile (or plugin). And as a long -distance type with the diesel. But the petrol plugin on a long distance???

    Reply
  10. Yes, even on a long distance the plugin petrol engine!
On the highway, too, I am still a bit below the consumption of the diesel at 130 kmh: in summer at approx. 4.6 liters, in winter with strong frost it was 5.3 liters. On the country road, the plugin is significantly more economical than a comparable diesel (approx. 3.5 liters). The electric motor significantly optimizes the load behavior of the petrol engine. The technology is now very sophisticated.

  11. Plugin also cheaper in practice than diesel
After 8 years with a diesel I have been driving an almost equally large plugin hybrid for 20 months. Driving profile unchanged with a 50% long distance and 50% short distance. The consumption in the third mix of this driving profile is 40% to 50% lower than with the diesel (currently at 3.6 liters after fuel calculation, not BC). Tax 15% of the diesel. In the purchase, the plugin was 250 euros more expensive than the comparable diesel. Thanks to the premium, however, much cheaper than the diesel. The manufacturers’ consumption information, of course, has nothing to do with real consumption, as everywhere. But 3.6 liters over 20 months with winter operation… are already great. or?

  12. That’s cheating !
As could be seen on television yesterday, plug in hybrid was much worse than indicated by the manufacturer. The values given are exceeded many times over. It’s just about collecting the purchase premium! And instead of 1% per month, companies only need cars with 0.5%. However, since the cars do not contribute to environmental protection, as the car manufacturers know, you have to assume the large -scale fraud, with government participation. According to the television report, one can only hope that the public prosecutor’s office will take up the investigation and have an end to the lies stories.

  13. Mr. Heiss is right
If you drive the plugin in a precise manner, it is very economical. Looked at my extra time today. Since the last fuel stop over 1.Driven 000 km (2.1 liters per 100 km). Still still a good 500 km range in the tank. Right is, of course, a plugin that is not loaded regularly is just as pointless as a diesel that only runs on short distance.

The reality is different. Company car drivers like to take the hybrid because of the 0.5% taxation, but what is the least used part of the hybrid! The charging cable!!!

This is how the outlander effect in NL explains. And since the plugins like to be loaded for a long time, so preferably at night: Who likes to pay the domestic electricity (because without evidence) if they can give the boss the bill bill?
