- Polestar Precept: Aerodynamic efficiency and thoughtful interior design
- Sustainability as an important pillar for Polestar’s future
- Polestar and Google together develop the interior of the Precept
Polestar Precept stands for the vision of the future orientation of the contemporary electrical performance brand Polestar. The concept vehicle relies on new sustainable inner materials, innovation in the field of digital user interface and high design. In a purely visually, he fits seamlessly into the values of the brand and shows what Polestar under “Pure, Progressive, Performance.”Understands.
“Precept is a statement, a vision of what Polestar stands and for the relevance of the brand”, commented Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar. “The car is an answer to the clear challenges that our society and industry is currently facing. This is not a wide-distance proof dream.”Rather, the Polestar Precept is a preview of future vehicles and illustrative that the Nordic brand set to innovation to further reduce the environmental impact. As you are used to it from Polestar, the Precept presents itself minimalist, sporty and with clear lines.
Polestar Precept: Aerodynamic efficiency and thoughtful interior design
The brand is to be understood that the Polestar Precept gives a taste of future Polestar models. The proportions of the vehicle define its shape based on a restrained surface and the focus on aerodynamic efficiency. A 3.1-meter wheelbase gives the breathtaking four-door Grand Tourer a very low, slim silhouette and yet creates enough space for a large battery and at the same time sufficient legroom and headspace for passengers in the front room.

The radiator grille is currently considered as a superfluous area in electric vehicles, but now becomes the center for safety sensors and driver assistance functions. Behind a transparent panel for intelligent hardware are two radar sensors and a high-resolution camera. The lidar pod mounted on the glass roof enables optimal view of improving driving assistance systems.
The aerodynamics of the prepECT was reduced from the ground up to improve the efficiency and reach of the vehicle. For a precept rather than conventional side mirrors on cameras, which extend each other along an aerodynamic arm outward. An integrated front wing should also accelerate the air flow over the long bonnet. As a result, air can set itself earlier on the surface.

But also the interior of the Polestar Precept has been reconsidered. Instead of traditional rearview mirrors you meet a digital screen. The picture is recorded by a wide-angle camera at the rear of the vehicle. Due to the lack of a conventional rear window, the glass roof of the polestar precept extends behind the back seat. The tailgate itself was equipped with a larger opening and higher mounted hinges to facilitate access.
Sustainability as an important pillar for Polestar’s future
Electric cars must be completely thought-out to come to the road as sustainably as possible. Polestar shows how it can work. The interior of Precept is sustainable, based on new materials and processes. Likewise, the development of the user interface builds on current partnerships, for example with Google, and guarantees the concentration of professional expertise on various fields in the vehicle.

The Precept understands it to show that, despite modern high-tech luxury in the interior, you do not have to do without new, sustainable interior fitting materials with reduced environmental pollution. In cooperation with professionals in this field, Polestar is increasingly working to reduce the weight of the vehicles, reduce the use of plastic and replace waste material through innovative natural and recycled starting materials. The seat surfaces are knitted from recycled PET bottles in the 3D process, the upholstery and headrests made of recycled cork vinyl, while the carpets are made of recycled fishing nets. These elements, combined with digital avant-garde, define a new premium luxury that exceeds the existing conventions of leather, wood and chrome.
Polestar and Google together develop the interior of the Precept
Together with Google, Polestar brings the next generation of the Android based infotainment system in the Precept. The operating system presents itself on an enlarged 15-inch touchscreen in the middle, which complements the 12.5-inch driver’s display. Both are connected by a illuminated frame that includes the entire interior. Special eye-catcher in the interior is certainly the characteristic pole star emblem, which hovers holographically in a massive piece of Swedish crystal between the headrests of the rear seats.
“The aesthetics of Polestar Precept is based on state-of-the-art technology and not on historical references in the automotive industry. At Polestar we see technology as a pioneer, as a tool to solve the problems of our society, and we have transferred this attitude into new design principles. The combination of sustainable materials and intelligent high-tech systems suggests a completely new chapter of the avant-garde luxury design and clearly shows in which direction Polestar moves.”- Maximilian Missoni, Head of Design at Polestar
The display supports the further development of a personalized and dynamic digital interface and also contains a series of intelligent sensors. Eye Tracking captures the driver’s eyes and controls the contents of the different screens accordingly. Proximity sensors also improve the user-friendliness of the middle display while driving.

Polestar started in 2017 with the Polestar 1, a small series, powerful hybrid GT with 609 hp, 1.000 nm and a purely electric range of 124 km WLTP – the best value of a hybrid car worldwide – so the statement of the brand. In 2019, the Polestar 2 was presented as the first fully electric premium vehicle with high production volumes. In the future, the Polestar 3 will complement the portfolio as a fully electric powerful SUV.
