Polestar relies on fast growth - worldwide-fast

When 2021 was the year of Polestar 2, 2022 becomes the year of strong market growth of the Volvo performance brand. This makes announcements in the run-up to IAA as well as at the IAA in Munich itself. There, the company announced its global expansion plans. By the end of 2022, the Swedish Electro Performance brand is seeking to be present in 30 global markets.

The expansion plans from Polestar for 2021 have been expanded since the announcement in July and are intended to include new markets in the Middle East, including Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates. Luxembourg and Iceland will also be added to growing European expansion. The timetables for the introduction in the individual markets are announced accordingly. Other markets will be confirmed in due course.

“A growth in this magnitude is unprecedented and confirms our positioning as a global electric rake. Our unique business model has enabled us to build those production capacities we need to satisfy demand for our electric vehicles. Through our digital first approach, we can open up new markets faster. And, which is particularly important: the service network, which is essential for the safety of customers, is scalable.”- Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar

In addition to the development of new markets, Polestar also focuses on the expansion of its retail locations in existing markets. By the end of the year, around 100 Polestar spaces and destinations should be in operation. More will follow 2022. Looking to Germany shows that Polestar has opened a total of Seven Polestar Spaces until the beginning of September. For Leipzig the opening in October has already been confirmed. A second temporary location will be announced shortly and should follow in 2021.

The customer transfer centers are also rapidly expanded. All this happens because the performance streamers should not only be experienced online. After the purchase, the physical connection to the brand in the service and maintenance phase continues. Currently there are in the Polestar markets over 650 service points, of which alone is 125 in Germany. By the end of 2021 it should already be more than 780.

  1. Luxembourg and Iceland, you have to go there. That’s rubbish. Would be better, there were only Volvo and there saved electric cars with service and the usual Volvo discount. Then you would not have to open a showroom in Transkei.
