In addition, the acceleration values of the TaryCan Turbo S improve. The sprint from zero to 200 km / h now succeeds with Launch Control in 9.6 seconds, and thus 0.2 seconds faster than before. The quarter mile is completed after 10.7 seconds (previously 10.8 seconds). The TaryCan reaches its driving performance levels as well as sports work-typical reproducibility. The extensively updated electric sports car can be ordered from mid-September and rolls from mid-October to the distributors.

Intuitive display system and intelligent chassis

On request, a colored head-up display is now available. This projects relevant information directly into the field of view of the driver. The display is divided into the main starting area, the status area and an area of the display of temporary content. These include, for example, calls or commands of voice. In addition, as so-called presets navigation, power meters and a user-defined view are available.

With the new, in combination with the adaptive air suspension standard smart lift function, the TAYCAN can be programmed so that it is automatically raised on certain recurring places such as lane thresholds or garage rides. Even with rides on the highway, the smart lift function can actively influence the vehicle height and set the vehicle level to the best possible compromise between efficiency and ride comfort.

Also available as special equipment is an on-board AC charger with 22 kW. Thus, the battery can be charged about twice as fast as with the standard 11 kW loader. This option is available from the end of the year.

Flexible upgrade after buying with Functions on Demand

With Functions on Demand (FOD), Tacal drivers can acquire various comfort and assistance functions as needed. The special thing about it: This also works downstream for sale and the original configuration of the sports car. A workshop visit is not required thanks to online transmission over-the-air. Already today is the Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (Pirm) possible. Other FOD functions now add the power steering plus, the active tracking and the Porsche Innodrive.

The customers can choose whether you want to buy the respective function for your Tacy or as a monthly subscription, the latter contains three test months. After registering, selecting the desired function (s) in the Porsche Connect Store and with corresponding connectivity, the Porsche backend sends a data packet to the TaryCan via the mobile network. About the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) the driver is informed about its availability. Activation takes a few minutes. After successful activation, a message appears in the central display once. From model maintenance, four functions will be available for sale, three of them also in the month subscription. All prices mentioned below are recommended retail prices for Germany including the value added tax reduced to 16 percent.

  • The active track guide holds the vehicle through continuous steering engages centrally in the lane – even in traffic management situations. Innodrive fits the speed independently and sports cars to the upcoming circumstances, such as speedimits, curves, roundabouts, forward-up and stop signs. Even more charging comfort

Another new feature is the battery-chitching load. With it can be limited to suitable charging stations such as the fast load columns of ionity the charging power to about 200 kW, as long as a longer break is planned anyway. This extends the life of the battery and reduces the power loss. The function Battery-choping loading can be selected by the driver on the central display. If this does not happen, of course, a charging power of up to 270 kW is still possible at 800 volt high power charging columns.

In conjunction with the Mobile Charger Connect and the Home Energy Manager, further new intelligent charging functions are available. These include the current monitor function, which can now prevent the overload of the house connection, which can now prevent phase individuals, and the self-current-optimized loading. With this function, the TaryCan can be specifically loaded with in-house solar power. If the freely selectable, minimum battery charge is reached, only used by the house of unused solar power is used.

Plug & Charge simplifies loading: Tacal driver only need to plug in the charging cable and already loaded. The authentication data is stored in the vehicle. This automatically detects the charging station, who is at the column. The ISO standard 15118 ensures that the communication between infrastructure and car is protected against manipulation. The payment process is also automatically. Plug & Charge already works on ionity charging columns in Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Italy and the Czech Republic. At the beginning of 2021 follow twelve other countries in Europe. In the US and Canada, Plug & Charge is also available from the beginning of 2021 at Electrify America and Electrify Canada at many charging points.

Larger selection in the colors

The model year 2021 are seven new outdoor colors available for election: Mahogany Metallic, Frozenberry Metallic, Cherry Metallic, Coffee Beige Metallic, Chalk, Neptune Blue and Ice Gray Metallic. For all TaryCan versions, the Sport Design package carbon is also available. This includes, among other things, inserts made of carbon in the lower part of the bug and in the sill cladding and side fins from carbon at the rear diffuser.

The digital radio is in the new model year series. Digital radioprograms in the formats DAB, DAB + and DMB Audio offer a significantly better sound quality. Porsche has also expanded the series scope in the field of connectivity. So Apple Podcasts can now be selected as a separate media source.
