Quanton is system supplier of battery and hydrogen-powered e-mobility for commercial vehicles such as trucks, buses and vans with a focus on the electrification of commercial vehicles. In one of his last projects, the company drives the market launch of the Electric Quanton 12 m low floor bus at the end of the year. The special thing about it, it is a self-development, which will come both as an electric bus with battery, as well as with fuel cell on the road.
In the battery-powered variant, the vehicle is already available from the end of 2021, as fuel cell strainer from spring 2022. Unique: The emission-free BEV bus is located in a similar price range such as conventional diesel buses. The vehicle is offered in close cooperation with the Quanton Investor and Strategic Partner eV Dynamics, a European-Asian consortium of companies specializing in electrical and hydrogen-based mobility. With regard to the components used, there are no compromises and uses both batteries (CATL) as well as fuel cells (Ballard Power) to the world’s leading manufacturers of the respective technologies.
Miguel VallDecabres Polop, CEO of eV Dynamics, explains: “There were already some thousand buses produced. These have been successfully used in Asia for years in action.”Quantron performs that the electric bus will be ancestor with a maximum capacity of 250 kW. The range of the E-Bus is given up to 280 km, which is sufficient in daily city business. Loading up to 80 kWh; With a battery capacity of 422 kWh. This causes the battery to be fully charged via a European standard connector CCS 2 within 3 to 6 hours depending on battery size. For example, the city bus is fully operational after loading overnight.
Quanton to understand that the battery system used is adapted to the respective operational requirements. It is also compatible with different charging solutions. The bus has a capacity for up to 95 passengers. The equipment for optimum passenger and driver comfort as well as the internal and exterior design are available to individual customer requirements in a variety of specifications.
