Charging options apparently improved, but the basic version can only charge with 7 kW
The prices for the Megane E-Tech Electric start at 35,200 euros. After deducting the funding of 9,570 euros, that leaves 25,630 euros. Renault now officially announces this and also names the prices of the other variants.
Customers who have already pre-ordered a vehicle can now convert their reservation into an order. Renault will accept new orders from February 1, 2022. However, the manufacturer does not reveal when delivery will begin.
Confusingly, Renault speaks of four equipment levels in its press release, but the table provided names five:
Charging system | Equilibre | Techno | Iconic | Evolution ER | evolution
40 kWh / 96 kW | AC7 | € 35,200
40 kWh / 96 kW | AC22 / DC85 | € 37,100 | € 40,100
60 kWh / 96 kW | AC22 / DC130 | € 42,700
60 kWh / 160 kW | AC22 / DC130 | € 41,700 | € 44,700 | € 47,500 | € 43,500 |
As feared, the basic version only offers AC charging with 7 kW, which Renault abbreviates as AC7 in the table. There is no quick charging option here.
The previously announced version EV40 96 kW Boost Charge (with AC22, but without DC charging) seems to have been replaced by a version with AC22 and DC85. In addition, the EV60 160 kW Super Charge version (with AC7 / DC130) has been replaced by an AC22 / DC130 version. However, this version is only offered in a single configuration (Evolution ER) – which normally suggests that the manufacturer does not anticipate any great sales opportunities for an engine.
If we disregard the equipment versions, there are only three motor-battery-charging system combinations left (while our table from October there were four):
EV40 96 kW AC7 |
EV40 96 kW AC22 / DC85 |
EV60 160 kW AC22 / DC130 |
|
System performance | 96 kW | 96 kW | 160 kW |
0-100 km / h | 7.4 sec. | 7.4 sec. | 7.4 sec. |
battery pack | 40 kWh | 40 kWh | 60 kWh |
Range | 300 km | 300 km | 450 km |
AC charging | 7 kW | 22 kW | 22 kW |
Recharge AC range | 1h = 50 km | 1h = 150 km | 1h = 50 km |
DC charging | – | 85 kW | 130 kW |
Recharge DC range | – | n / a. | 30 min = 300 km |
Base price | 35,200 euros | 37,100 euros | 41,700 euros |
For leasing customers the prices start at 230 euros per month or 35,200 euros for the Equilibre equipment with the 40 kWh battery and the 130 hp electric motor. The Techno equipment variant with the 60 kWh battery pack and the 218 hp electric motor is available from 370 euros per month or 44,700 euros.
Renault gives the Megane E-Tech a two-year guarantee with 24-hour service seven days a week at market launch. The battery is guaranteed for eight years or 160,000 kilometers.
