RENAULT »MOBILIZE«: The electric trumber-electric

E cars are the rolling proof that rethink on the streets – but e-mobility is more. It’s about technical assistance, comfortable loading – and of course the question of what will be from the battery later?

RENAULT now bundles all of these activities in his group brand “Mobilize”. “With the steady increase of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, the mobility market is always narrower with the energy market,” says Corporate Chef Clotilde Delbos. For this, the company wanted to offer concrete solutions and contribute to the zero-emission target of the Renault Group.

Among other things, a new battery certificate should provide more transparency for sale used electric cars. It is already available for private customers and fleet operators and will be available for Dacia Spring customers in the future via My Dacia. The data is read directly from the vehicle management system of the vehicles and provide detailed information about the relationship between the original and the current capacity of the battery. This percentage should facilitate the residual value calculation and thus the resale.

In addition, there is a “MOBILIZE CHARGE PASS”, which has user-friendly access to 260.000 charging points in 25 European countries should enable – including tariff comparison and route guidance via app. The payment can then be made via this card. Also on offer is “Mobilize Smart Charge”. Thus, customers can optimize the electricity bill for their E-vehicle – but for the time being only in France and the Netherlands.

MOBILIZE also leads the “Advanced Battery Storage” project and expands the currently largest stationary energy storage from E-Auto batteries in the long term to a capacity of 70 MWh. In addition to the current locations in the northern French Douai and in the former North Rhine-Westphalian power plant Werdohl-Elverlingsen Mobilize installs a memory with 15 MWh capacity on the grounds of the Renault plant in Flins. There 480 new batteries of the small car Zoe gradually replaced by used.

With this “second life” after use in the e-car, the useful life is extended by up to ten years. The CO2 footprint of the batteries is thereby reduced by up to one fifth. The whole thing is apparently also as a social task at Renault. Because if and when all these activities doing money is so clear yet. Clotilde Delbo Indes sees himself under pressure on this question. “We do not have to be profitable over the next few years,” she said on the edge of the IAA Mobility in Munich. Much more important is to make the future.
