We'll know at the beginning of March – then Volvo will present its second electric model
The coupe SUV, the flattened version of the SUV, is a reality, whether we like it or not. Volvo has held back in this regard so far, but maybe that will change later.
In any case, Volvo designer Robin Page told Auto Express in early 2020 that the brand's electric car offensive will include this body type.

Volvo has announced that it will present a new electric car at the beginning of March 2021, Volvo's second electric model after the XC 40 Recharge Pure Electric. Like the XC40, it should be based on the CMA (compact module architecture) platform. It is said not to be a successor to the V40. When asked about the new model, Volvo boss Hakan Samuelsson told Automotive News Europe that it will have a "more streamlined body" than the XC40.

Volvo already presented the studies 40.1 and 40.2 in 2016 from which the XC40 and the Polestar 2 became. If the Swedes want to bring a Volvo version of the Concept 40.2 in addition to the Polestar 2, it could be the coupe SUV they are looking for.

Volvo's parent company Geely already has a compact coupe SUV with the Lynk & Co 05. Like the XC40, the car is based on the CMA platform. The first pictures were shown in November 2019, in China the car came on the market in spring 2020. At 4.59 meters, it is a little longer than the XC40, which measures just 4.43 meters, and the wheelbase is three centimeters longer. Otherwise, the trunk and head space in the rear should be smaller.
