Sales high for electric cars from Mercedes-Benz-cars

Vehicles of Mercedes-Benz are in demand as EH and JE: 2021 the Group was able to sell more than 2.4 million cars and vans, despite supply bottlenecks with semiconductors. Especially the high-end models Maybach, AMG and G-Class recorded a new sales record. Overall, sales minus is due to the previous year – predominantly due to chip-conditioning delivery delays – but around 5%. As a real step, the electrification strategy has proven: just under 100.000 delivered vehicles drive purely electric, there are almost 130.000 plug-in hybrids (total around 9.6%). It is therefore assumed to fulfill the CO2 fleet emission destination for 2021 in Europe. 60 billion euros Mercedes-Benz can be costing the next four years. With this investment you want to drive from 2022 to 2026 on a fully electric future. The most valuable luxury automotive brand in the world strives no less than the leadership in electrical drives and vehicle software.

The electrified models have an increase of 69.3% compared to 2020. The EQS available since August 2021 alone has already been more than 16.000 times ordered, although the brand launch in the important markets of China and the USA was only in December. Britta Seeger, Member of the Board of Daimler AG and Mercedes-Benz Maybach is therefore more than satisfied: “The order intake for the EQS – the electric car with the greatest reach on the market – is very promising.”From 2022, the Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 4Matic + is also available. Mercedes performance enthusiasts are fully at their expense, if they are looking for “a combination of innovative electromobility in a luxurious ambience, coupled with sportiness and agile driving dynamics”, as Philipp Schiemer, Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, explained.

It also relies on independence: On the way to a fully electric future, the automaker Mercedes-Benz and the battery company Factorial Energy from the USA agreed a technology cooperation. The aim of the new partnership is the joint development of advanced battery technologies, starting with the cell via modules up to integration into the vehicle battery. Already in the coming year, first cell prototypes should be tested.

China is still the most important market for Mercedes-Benz. Nearly 32% of all vehicles sold in China. Just behind it follows Europe with 29%.

  1. 152 EQS delivered in December in Germany. I do not know if this message justifies. Especially not if you know, in the same period, 824 TOCAN and 214 E-TRON GT were delivered on the same basis. And the months before it was hardly any more EQs ..

  2. You can obviously be a pretty speech.
    100.000 at 2.4 million – maybe Mercedes should think again.
    I throw a number in the arena:
    930.000 BEV &# 128521;

  3. The EQS is the only currently available large electric luxury sedan.
    This year, the BMW i7 will be launched.
    The Tesla Model S or the Lucid Air have a wheelbase that is more likely to be comparable to the EQE.
