› New sedan for the Indian market with generous space and striking design details
› Round air outlets and horizontal decorative strip frame the central, free-standing display
› Official presentation of the new SKODA SLAVIA will take place on 18. held in November
Mlada Boleslav/Pune – With an official design sketch, SKODA is giving a first glimpse of the interior of the new SLAVIA for the Indian market. The interior of the notchback sedan is characterized by the interior concept already familiar from other SKODA models, including the latest design details. These include eye-catching round air outlets, a horizontal decorative strip in a contrasting color and embossed lettering on the cockpit cover. The new SLAVIA expands the A0 segment, which is very popular in India. Like the SKODA KUSHAQ SUV model presented at the beginning of 2021, it is based on the MQB-A0-IN version of the modular transverse matrix from the Volkswagen Group, which SKODA AUTO specially adapted for India. The second new model within the INDIA 2 project.0 will be manufactured locally in Pune and will be released on November 18th. Presented November 2021.
The central element in the interior of the current SKODA models is the free-standing infotainment display, which will also characterize the interior of the new SKODA SLAVIA. The character line runs under the touch display with a screen diagonal of up to 10 inches, citing the silhouette of the SKODA grille. It also serves as a place to rest your hand when operating the display. The width of the spacious interior typical of the brand is emphasized by a horizontal, apparently floating and colour-contrasting decorative strip that extends to the side into the distinctive round air outlets. The display of the digital instrument cluster can be seen behind the two-spoke multifunction steering wheel.
Like the SUV model KUSHAQ, the SKODA SLAVIA is based on the locally developed and produced MQB-A0-IN platform. SKODA AUTO has specially adapted this version of the modular transverse matrix from the Volkswagen Group for the Indian market and has already designed it for the new, stricter safety and emissions regulations in India. The technical development took place in the SKODA AUTO Technology Center in Pune. Overall, the automobile manufacturer achieves localization of up to 95 percent in production.
