The final world premiere should take place in 2021
A new teaser video offers a better look at the Subaru Solterra, the brand's first electric vehicle. The clip not only shows the Solterra from the side, but also offers a glimpse of the front and rear of the upcoming crossover model.
The video mixes footage of the Solterra with images of nature like the chirping of birds and wind blowing through the grass. First of all, we see the same picture from the side of the EV as in the earlier teaser. The next shot offers a great view of the rear of the vehicle, with two pronounced spoilers and an angular shape for the taillights. A look at the front shows headlights with four square LED projectors.

The rest of the video shows some scenes in which the Solterra is underway. The EVs are so far away here that not much can be seen.
The video reuses the cockpit image from the previous teaser. The interior has a digital instrument cluster that sits high and far from the steering wheel. There is a large infotainment screen in the center console and a touchpad on the console.
The Solterra is the Subaru version of the Toyota BZ4X Electric crossover. The two models have a very similar design, apart from minor changes to the front and rear. They also seem to have the same interior space.
So far there is no specific information on the drive train for either model. The Solterra has all-wheel drive, which suggests a two-engine layout. There is still no information on the battery or range.

The study conveys Toyota's legendary quality, durability and long-term reliability (QDR), in combination with the AWD capabilities from Subaru to achieve a driving experience that is both comfortable and engaging. "
The Solterra will be launched in 2022 as a 2023 model year product. Given the many teasers, Subaru could prepare for an early launch. The timing would make sense, as Toyota plans to unveil the BZ4X before the end of the year and launch the electric car in mid-2022.
