The transport sector is one of the largest CO2 causes worldwide. Since also in Germany the consequences of climate change are becoming more and more stronger, the topic of mobility of the future plays a crucial role. This is also reflected in the run-up to the general election. A survey of the field service provider Norstat has now examined the willingness of the Germans to adapt their mobility behavior to the changed requirements. The result: climate protection Yes, but not when it goes to your own purse.
The Germans are quite open to measures that protect the climate. This is out of a Norstat message. However, despite this openness, high fuel prices and rising taxes accrue to achieve the climate goals in great rejection. More than half of the respondents contradict an increase in gasoline prices, with tax increases, there are almost two-thirds, according to Norstat Managing Director Sebastian Sorrowers.
About half (47 percent) of the respondents are satisfied with the decision of the European Court of Justice that criminals or conditions for non-compliance with the measures for air conditioning can be imposed. For even greater approval, the introduction meets so-called environmental zones. About 61 percent of respondents indicate that they advocate the introduction. By contrast, 57 percent of respondents talk about an increase in gasoline prices. Also 63 percent are against a tax increase to achieve the climate goals. The rejection is the highest here in the age group 60+ (73.2 percent) and among respondents living in rural areas (65.6 percent).
Public transport and sharing offers do not convince the Germans so far. Despite regional differences, Corona regularly used the least German darry offers regularly. Only 13 percent of respondents drove in front of the pandemic two to three times a week by bus, 53 percent gave to have never used the tram. Overall, however, there is a greater willingness of younger generations to use alternatives to the car, says. For a “citizen ticket” – a kind of annual subscription for public transport – the respondents see the reasonable price for 30 euros per month.
The approval of e-mobility – especially E-cars – falls very low. About half of the respondents do not want to change. This goes hand in hand with a badly estimated infrastructure, especially in rural areas. “Here is the big task to meet the skepticism of the citizen on the next government,” says worship. Accordingly, only 38 percent of respondents see the electric car as the drive of the future. Even 45 percent of the surveyed values streamers as unreliable. Only 16 percent of respondents rate the infrastructure for E cars in rural areas as very good.
Most support learn the expansion of rail links with 74 percent as well as the expansion of bike paths with 71 percent. At least least the participants advocate the introduction of a speed limit of 30 hour kilometers in the cities (39 percent approval). However, the expansion of cross-country pedestrian areas interpreted in the city traffic is more than 61 percent. The expansion of the motorway network enjoys no high priority with 44 percent approval among the Germans.

People to ask what they are ready for environmental protection, that can be done before choosing, but that helps little climate change, because it’s about being able to protect people from their own unreasonableness.
How was that in the introduction of the seat belts?
Many arguments were placed on the other hand, but the legislator has introduced the straps, because the number of seriously injured and deaths is significantly reduced – today it is largely accepted.
Even in climate protection, politics must consider climate change and significantly reduce the number of burners on the streets and heaters in buildings and power generation with fossil fuels. And in the interest of human-friendly cities the car traffic in total.
