Legroom apparently okay, but you bump your head up easily
The option is still grayed out in the Tesla configurator, but soon the Model Y will also be available in Germany with seven seats. Tesla fans in the USA are already discussing how much space they have in the bad seats (in row three) will. A video from the YouTubers at Good Drive now shows the seating system fairly precisely.

In the US, where Good Drive is from, the seven-seater option was only introduced two weeks ago. The two video filmmakers scrutinized this version in a showroom (in the Fashion Island outlet center south of Los Angeles). Before that, however, they test the five-seater; the first three minutes of the video are devoted to driving impressions.

The testers found Model Y noticeably heavier than Model 3, and the higher seating position was also noticeable. As far as the acoustics are concerned, the area around the front passengers seems quieter (because of the built-in double glazing), while more noise penetrates from behind. Otherwise, the seats are apparently more comfortable than in Model 3, the workmanship looks better.
In the seven-seater, the moderator first sits in the back. With a size of "Five-Six" (5 feet, 6 inches or the equivalent of 1.68 meters) you obviously have enough space for your legs. However, when the moderator is sitting upright, the back of his head hits the glass of the tailgate – this is certainly uncomfortable on a bump. In addition, the mechanism for folding the seats forward does not seem so easy to find.
When the third row of seats is upright, the trunk is no longer very large; However, there is also storage space under the trunk floor. The two seats in the back row can be folded down with a flick of the wrist, only a small step remains in the loading floor. The video also shows the trunk of the normal Model Y. When the seats are laid flat, it has the dimensions of a full-size bed, so it is sufficient for an overnight stay – at least for the moderator, which is not that long.
