- EV Aggregation Platform enables intelligent integration of battery packs
- Economic energy transition thanks to battery storage
Premiere in France: The technology company The Mobility House has commercialized in France’s electricity market for the first time a store from First and Second-Life Renault Zoe Electric Car Batteries. The project “Advanced Battery Storage” lead the Munich in partnership with Mobilize (Renault Group), Banque of Territoires and the Ecological Transport Modernervation Fund managed by Demeter.
As already installed in Germany and the Netherlands from vehicle batteries, the French store, which is installed at the automaker Renault in the northern Franzenischer plant Douai, participates in the short-term trade and the primary control service market. Douai is now becoming an important location: Recently, Renault had announced, there a “Gigafactory” or. to build a battery factory. The aim is to support the production of state-of-the-art, competitive and low-carbon batteries to optimally serve the European electromobility market.
The Mobility House
Together with partners, The Mobility House with the capacity market opens up another source of revenue for electric car batteries and makes an important contribution to a stable energy supply. In addition, the company thus sets the technological foundation for the networking and intelligent integration of electric car batteries into the energy system. In the future, mobile storage, ie electric cars on charging stations, will make a contribution to power grid stability and earn money (also called Vehicle to Grid / V2G).
EV Aggregation Platform enables intelligent integration of battery packs
In the realization The Mobility House relies on the company’s own and constantly evolving technology, which has been in use since 2016. The intelligent loading and energy management system is ChargePilot and the underlying eV aggregation Platform. This was specially developed for the efficient provision of a whole range of energy and power applications and can integrate a variety of battery packs into the electricity market – whether mobile or stationary, first or second-life batteries.
“Since 2014, we have successfully worked on the involvement and marketing of electric car batteries in the electricity market and are already active here in various European markets as well as the USA. With the integration of a memory in the capacity market as now in France, we once again expand our technology spectrum for an innovative application. We are proud that the Renault Group has selected us as a long-term partner for this premiere.”- Robert Hienz, CEO of the Mobility House
“The intelligent control of battery storage is an important step for the integration of electric vehicles into the power grid. The fact that we are now actively participating in the French capacity market with the help of The Mobility House technology is a great and important step, “says Yasmine Asef, Program Director, Energy Services at Mobilize (Renault Group). “Through such projects, we open up incredible future potential that not only promotes the energy transition, but also contribute to electricity grid and revoke with vehicle batteries. A win-win situation.”
Economic energy transition thanks to battery storage
Battery stores have already become an essential element in the electricity market to ensure network stability while enabling an economic energy transition at the same time. Especially the replacement of conventional power plants in important system services, such as primary control performance and capacity markets, is a central building block here. Batteries as a buffer ensure that more and more than conventional power plants can be dispensed with renewable energies in times of high availability of renewable energies.
The Mobility House
The Mobility House is a pioneer in technology development for this flexibility, which is in intelligently controlled loading and unloading of electric car battery packs. The 4.7 MW memory of the Renault plant in Douai was prequalified for participation in the primary control service market with 4 MW. Thus, The Mobility House in Germany, the Netherlands and in France now provide a total of 33 MW primary control performance with electric car batteries.
