The Japanese car maker Toyota extends its investments in electromobility massively. As is apparent from a communication, the Japanese Group wants to invest around 31 billion euros by 2030. Helping on the way to CO2 neutrality a model offensive: By 2030, the international automobile manufacturer worldwide leads 30 electric cars. The global paragraph of fully electric vehicles should increase to 3.5 million units. Europe is one of the key markets.
However, the Group wants to be broadly set up in the future. “We live in a diversified world and in a time in which the future is difficult to predict,” Toyota President Akio Toyoda said. It is therefore difficult to satisfy all with a unit solution. “That’s why Toyota wants to offer as many options as possible around the world as possible.”In addition to E cars, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models, the Group therefore concentrates on hydrogen cars.
The battery technology should be successively developed for this purpose. Toyota increases the investments in this area again. After the start of the commercial production of nickel metal hydride batteries (NiMH), the Group is expected to progress similar progress in lithium-ion batteries. In addition, Toyota is working on the introduction of solid batteries: they allow greater performance, greater range and shorter loading times.
No later than 2035, only emission-free Toyota cars in Western Europe are issued, promises Toyota. Prerequisite, however, is the expansion of a corresponding infrastructure for electricity and hydrogen. Lexus will soon present a purebred E-sports car and are already 2030 to the pure electric provider in Europe, China and North America – 2035 then worldwide.

In the last row the three from right could be interesting. Otherwise, they are abundantly late and have plenty of middle class SUV. Since the competition has to offer more, especially if you want to achieve economies of scale. Because I do not see a consistent electroplate strategy at Toyota.
Toyota has finally seen that the march direction BEV is called. I had the thanks to her hybrid experience actually seen as a pioneer at the electromobility. But then you have as our mobile industry once paved the hybrid has just not put on the market. The Proace is based on PSA technology is therefore a Peugeot / Citroen / Opel. Instead, you have tried to put on FCEV.
Well, no one stops to become a smarter. Toyota is certainly very good. Just just late.
