Traditional colors, new technology

Alfa Romeo refreshes the Giulia and Stelvio top models. In addition to new colors, there is now finally more driving assistance.

The Quadrifoglio models from Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia have never lacked charm and emotion.

Since their launch, both the SUV and the sedan have delighted with their fascinating driving dynamics and harmonious design. The revision of the models released in 2017 and 2016 is visually unobtrusive – with the exception of the new paintwork colors "Orca GT Junior" and "Verde Montreal". The latter pays homage to the legendary Alfa Romeo Montreal that appeared in 1970.

Unchanged strengths

Giulia and Stelvio marked the great revival of the traditional Alfa Romeo brand – and were celebrated accordingly. Not only the timeless and elegant design was well received, but also the driving dynamics, especially in the top models "Quadrifoglio Verde". The green cloverleaf refers to the brand's racing history and stands for 510 hp from a V6 biturbo engine on both models – which will not be touched during the facelift. The chassis and all-wheel drive system of the Stelvio QV also remain unchanged.

More driving assistance

Stelvio and Giulia, both of which are based on the same platform, were criticized for their inner values: the infotainment system seemed a bit outdated right from the start, driving assistants were hardly available. Alfa Romeo is now changing that: In the new model year, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio are equipped with new electronic driver assistance systems developed in cooperation with Bosch, which enable so-called autonomous driving at level 2. By definition, this level is reached when the vehicle takes control of the accelerator, brakes and steering under certain conditions. The car can now intervene in the steering to prevent it from leaving its lane or colliding when changing lanes. A drowsiness warning monitors the driver's alertness, the Alfa now recognizes the speed limit signs via a camera and shows the corresponding speed limits on the speedometer display. The combination of radar cruise control and steering assistant now enables semi-autonomous driving on the motorway or in traffic jams, with the driver's hands still having to remain on the steering wheel.

The infotainment system has been upgraded with a larger screen (8.8 inches) and an online connection for real-time traffic data and other functions.

Prices for the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde start at 96,900 francs, the Stelvio QV with Q4 all-wheel drive system costs from 109,900 francs.
