Turkey relies on electric cars: First prototype to be seen in 2019, series production from 2022-relies

It is now clear that the first electric car manufactured in Turkey is expected to be on the road in the second half of 2022. Then it should be able to travel up to 500 km purely electrically, as Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank points out.

Several models are planned, based on five different platforms. These include a classic sedan, a station wagon, a station wagon, a roadster and an SUV crossover. Five domestic companies – Anadolu Group, BMC, KOk Group, Turkcell and Zorlu Holding each with 19% stake and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) with 5% stake – lead the TOGG (Automobile Joint Venture Group) joint venture ) of Turkey in common.
