The US company WAVE (Wireless Advanced Vehicle Electrification), a daughter of Ideanomics, is apparently plans with its inductive charging systems for electrical commercial vehicles with 500 and 1000 kW charging power. This reports “Electrive.net “citing different sources. Explicitly referred to the Tesla Semi.
The Wave system is already used by several electrobus companies in the US, it means, and currently offer a charging power of up to 250 kW. According to information from a recently published document, it should be 500 kW and then 1000 kW. The document of a tender of the US Energy Ministry has been published by Twitter. A time frame until when the 500 kW or the 1000 kW charging power is to be achieved is not known.
Thus, the expansion stages planned by WAVE are relatively accurate of the order of magnitude that Tesla adapts for the megacharger. Much more than the maximum charging power of 1 MW is not known for the planned Tesla charging stations for the semi – but they will probably be wired.
Wave wants to achieve the increase in the charging power of its 250 kW system through a new electronics and a new design of the coil. Infrastructure side, a large primary coil should be embedded in the ground, the receiver plate on the base of the vehicle should be up to 25 centimeters away. Information about efficiency at this air gap are not known.
The fact that the charging outputs for long-distance e trucks will be forward to this order of magnitude is clear according to Wave. For this purpose, the company relies on information that Tesla has made to the semi. “The Tesla Semi concept design has the largest announced range of 500 miles (805 kilometers) with a target charge of 80 percent in 30 minutes”, Wave is quoted: The battery pack is estimated at at least 800 kWh (probably higher) and must be a destination loan of about 1.5 MW.
In the mobility industry, some companies work on inductive charging solutions, it says. Mostly the charging services but rather in the area of an AC charging process – in the mass, the inductive charging technology has not yet prevailed. TESVOLT had announced at the beginning of July after entering the specialist Stercom, in the medium term “inductive supercharging with up to 200 kilowatt charging power“.

With the semi, this has nothing to do. There is still not on the market while all competitors are present. Rather, it has become official that he does not come this year.
But that will come in a few years, because the handling with cables is annoying. For chargers for trucks, it is likely that it is more meaningful to share the battery into several segments that are quickly loaded. Because otherwise the Bottleneck is the one plug. There would be induction with z.B. Six areas instead of six cables a significant relief for the user. So I already believe in the induction.
I think the inductive store already exciting ..
That’s about a magnetic field, or?
If this does not affect all materials that are in this magnetic field ..
So heat, magnetic field radiation, etc
Not that one melt during the ride the tires when driving over there or the laptop is deleted &# 128521;
For me, the vehicle future is battery electrical and when the plug drops, then the better.
Do not plug in, just park over the primary coil in the ground. The car or the truck recognizes the loading option and can be seen, then the payment modalities are checked and started with the store.
Since gasoline, diesel, hydrogen and e-fuels can not keep up, which goes “inductive” just not and you need big tanks as well as at H2 complex compressors and cooling.
