Slower than a human?
Here are two silly questions: is a person faster and a horse more practical than the Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo? Do you think you know the answers? We got to the bottom of the whole thing anyway, because Porsche’s luxurious electric car is not entirely perfect! As for the weaknesses of the 571 hp Taycan are, see in the video.
Incidentally, the Taycan is available in four engines! They are called Taycan 4 Cross Turismo, Taycan 4S Cross Turismo, Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo and Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo. A rear-wheel drive version like the Taycan does not exist, at least initially. In the video you can see the 4S variant.
All variants have the well-known electric drive with an 800-volt battery. The "Performance Battery Plus" with 93 kWh (net) is standard. The ranges are around 400 to 450 kilometers – at least that’s what the manufacturer says. In reality things are unfortunately a bit different.
The Cross Turismo has a longer, flatter roofline, which gives the rear occupants a little more headroom. The trunk is also larger, with a capacity of 446 to 1,212 liters. A roof transport system and a bicycle rack for the rear are optionally available for bulky items.

Fender flares, special rocker panels, different aprons and 20 millimeters more ground clearance distinguish the Taycan Cross Turismo from the sedan. All Cross Turismo variants also offer a gravel mode that raises the chassis by 10 millimeters and makes the dampers more comfortable. Is that a gimmick? Yes … somehow. I explain why in the video.
It is also special that the car can now recuperate with up to 290 kW. 20 kW more than the maximum charging power at the socket. A very theoretical statement, yes. Do you want a tangible example of how much energy the Taycan can capture in this way? If you do an emergency stop to 0 km / h at 200 km / h, a range of four kilometers can be gained! That is quite impressive.
Incidentally, the interior design corresponds 1: 1 to the Taycan sedan. The upper and lower parts of the instrument panel span the entire width like a wing. The free-standing and curved instrument cluster can be clearly read. A central 10.9-inch infotainment display and a further, optional screen for the front passenger are combined flush under a glass surface.
