At the end of 2016, in my contribution Volkswagen presented in Detroit further model of I.D. Family – (VW Budd-E?already a first look at the Bulli concept of Volkswagen. Now more info is now known, for example the name of the electric concept vehicle I.D. Buzz.
The name can be deduced by a lot of imagination from the German word bus, which is at least partially comprehensible, reminds I.D. Buzz on such a small bus. From today, the Bulli concept is presented at the North American International Auto Show (Naias). The concept vehicle is optically strongly inspired by the UR-Bulli. The concept vehicle is set up on the basis of the modular electrification device (MEB).
Cape the modern variant of the bullis on a system performance of 275 kW, which is provided by two electric motors. Thus, according to VW, it goes in almost five seconds from zero to a hundred. At 160 km / h, however, the end. The engines, with a single power of 150 kW, get the required energy from a 111 kWh strong battery pack, which according to NEFZ, a range of 600 kilometers should enable. In addition, Volkswagen speaks of a second variant of I.D. Buzz, with a smaller battery of 83 kWh. The e-bulli can be loaded with up to 150 kW via CCS, an option for inductive charging is also provided.
If one compares the e-bulli with the VW T6, it falls on that it fails: 4.94 m length, 1.98 m width and a height of 1.96 m. The wheelbase drops very long at 3.3 meters, but a steerable rear axle should be a turning circle of only eleven meters possible. In the interior he offers plenty of space for up to eight people. When and if the i.D. Buzz in series is still unclear, a possible study of the electric SUV of VW is also in the room, which should be presented at the end of April at the Shanghai Auto Show.
