The Vietnamese automaker VinFast announced first details of its European strategy a few days ago. Accordingly, 2022 the first two electric cars of the company – Vf E35 and the VF E36 – should give their market debut in three European countries. Also about the own battery strategy have been lost a few words. Here you seem to be a lot of thoughts because you suspect behind batteries “a key for the future of electric vehicles”.
The Deputy Chairman Thuy Le also mentioned the strategic partnership between Vinfast and the Taiwanese company Prologium (PLG), a leading company in research and production of 100% solid state batteries. With the advantages of an extremely rare fire or explosion hazard, a wide operating temperature range and a three times higher energy density compared to lithium-ion batteries, the 100% solid-state battery is considered the technology of the future and as a catalyst for the e-mobility revolution.
With Gotion High-Tech, a third partner was named, which is also active in the field of battery development and production. The company is known for its LFP battery technology. The LFP battery can be produced inexpensively for electric cars of the middle class and has the potential to spread environmentally friendly traffic in the world. Furthermore, VinFast said that one also focuses on appropriate research and development activities in its own house. Research institutes with the world’s leading experts within the framework of the Vingroup Business Ecosystem and its new subsidiary Vines Energy Solutions JSC play an important role.
These three columns will help VinFast to achieve both self-catering with EV batteries as well as the highest quality of the batteries used. As far as the production is concerned, the Deputy Chairman of the Vingroup said that Vinfast plans to build Battery production facilities in Europe and the USA in addition to the own factory in Vietnam.
