The car is neither lighter nor heavier on snow than other cars in its class – in any case, the VW Cross Up does not have all-wheel drive despite the light off-road look.

The one-liter three-cylinder makes 75 hp in the Cross Up, the cheaper 60 hp variant is not available here.

It is not surprising that VW wants to derive several variants from the small car Up. With the new Cross Up it is still astonishing how little effort this can be done.
M.suppose: a completely constructed car, slightly longer springs, plus a set of plastic parts and a name that somehow means something to people. The new lifestyle car is ready.
VW is now proceeding with its smallest model, the Up, in the same way as before with the Polo, Golf and Touran: At the beginning of March, the Cross Up, a mini-VW with an almost off-road look, premiered at the Geneva Motor Show.
The car costs 13,925 euros, which is 2870 euros more than the standard four-door model with a 75 hp engine (this is the standard configuration of the Cross Up). For this money you essentially get equipment details and very little technology.
Two centimeters more ground clearance
The structural changes are limited to raising the chassis, combined with 16-inch light alloy wheels and 185/50 tires. Since the Standard-Up rolls on 14-inch steel wheels with 165/70 tires, the larger wheel / tire combination also contributes to the fact that the Cross Up offers two centimeters more ground clearance.
So it is very easy to improve with the Up, but the rest is ornament, even if not the worst at first glance. Black paneling on wheel arches and sills, plus door protection strips, a silver-colored roof rail (otherwise not on offer), silver-painted exterior mirrors.
This up can be recognized most clearly as a cross-up when it comes towards you: the silver-colored attachment on the bumper is otherwise not available.
If you want, you get a lot of red in the interior
VW has also given more color inside, the seats are available in either anthracite or red, the instrument panel is also available in red, black or silver, and the Cross Up has chrome edging for the speedometer and air vents.
The standard equipment is good, but also leaves room for further investments. There is central locking with remote control, fog lights, on-board computer, fog lights, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and a trunk with a variable loading floor and rear seat bench that can be folded down, but air conditioning, radio and the highly recommended portable navigation system still cost extra.
And of course there is no all-wheel drive either. This has never been seen in the cross models from VW.
