Volvo's environmental course: ethanol, economical diesel and front -wheel drive-course
Volvo With the SUV Volvo XC60, “Drive” stands for the fact that the car does not use consumption for the sake of consumption and only the two front wheels are powered.

Eco label for cars are modern and almost every manufacturer now has one in the program.

But what is hidden behind the savings cure is usually not recognizable at first glance.
The Swedish premium manufacturer Volvo, for example, currently offers a total of 15 models under the "Drive" nickname. On the one hand, this includes all flex-fuel versions of the manufacturer, i.e. all C30, S40, V50, V70 and S80, which can be operated with both petrol and bio-ethanol. In addition, the five economical models C30, S40, V50, V70 and S80 can decorate with the 1.6-liter diesel engine. The C30, S40 and V50 have recently been available with a start-stop automatic and additional aerodynamic fine grinding. Due to the extended austerity measures, the average consumption of the eco-models with start-stop compared to the conventional drive models from 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers per 100 kilometers to 3.9 liters.
With the SUV XC60 and XC70, “Drive” states that the vehicles do without consumption for the sake of consumption and only drive the two front wheels. In addition, the 129 kW/175 hp diesel engine was frictionally optimized and equipped with a special turbocharger, and the gear ratio was extended.
In the coming years, the number of eco models will surely increase. The Sweden’s environmental plan includes the expansion of the start-stop offer to the other engines. In addition, small, charged petrol engines are to be put into the program, the first of which starts this year. However, it is not yet clear whether the models will also get the environmental label with the new units. The preliminary highlight of the Swedish environmental program will be the plug-in hybrid announced for 2011, which should be particularly economical with a combination of electric and internal combustion engine.
