With the ID.4 GTX plays the dynamic card for the Elektro SUV. The e-crossover makes you mood on curvy country roads without throwing comfort overboard. The plastic desert in the interior is also a thing of the past. However, it all has its price.
Nobody should say that they would not be able to learn at VW. According to the plastic interior disaster at the ID.3 have the Wolfsburgers at the ID.GTX pulled the right conclusions and the leather content in the interior significantly increased. A clear step forward, although it is interesting that the dashboard and the inner cladding are always blue. Probably the VW decorators want to install similar traditions in the GTX series, such as the caro seat covers in the GTI models.
At VW, GTI with electricity GTX becomes
Especially since GTX is also the continuation of the GTI saga in electric vehicles. However, why the rims must have Norwegian names, such as "Ystad", does not open up to us. Probably the marketing department is of the opinion that a shot of the Scandinavian electromobility stronghold of the ID.4 GTX is good to see.

But we don’t want to go to a fjord, but in the Harz. Behind the volant is everything like it from the other ID.-Models knows. Small 5.3 inch cockpit, a 12-inch central touchscreen and a large head-up display. You managed this better at VW than your colleagues at Audi. At least as far as the flying arrows are concerned, which can still be seen even in light backlight. The infotainment also does not give up any puzzles if you have ever been sitting in an ID. However, the operation is not always very conclusive, they do better in Ingolstadt. Since the car is only provided with USB C connections, for smartphone owners means that they have to arm themselves with adapters or the appropriate charging cables.

The comfortable AGR seats are pleasant and we come with the top ID.4 Well clear. Our test car is equipped with the sports package, which means that the body flashes 15 millimeters deeper over the asphalt and the progressive steering implements the directional commands. Even if the GTX is more sporty than the normalo ID.4, he never becomes uncomfortable and cannot be disturbed by bumpy streets. The spread of the main driving modes ECO, comfort and sport could be more pronounced. In sports, the chassis is tighter and the resignation for the steering is stronger. We like to cook our own soup anyway in such things and use the individual mode to do so. Also with the ID.4 GTX means: drive to sport and the rest for comfort. If necessary, you can adjust the adaptive dampers into 15 steps.

Driving dynamics manager always coordinates the E-VW
The most important part of the VW agility menu works in the background: The driving dynamics manager is a conductor who coordinates the existing control systems and thus coordinates that the vehicle whistles as far as possible around the corners. This technology kniff, which has already given the Golf GTI the extra-shovel dynamic, also works in the ID.4 GTX, which is for a 2.149 kilograms of e-crossover, surprisingly quick around the corners. The driving dynamics manager also acts with recuperating brake interventions in order to keep the front car pressing to the curve edge in the bridle. The all-wheel drive with an asynchronous machine at the front, in which the front axle can be switched on at lightning speed if necessary, contributes to the good grip and the neutral driving behavior as well as the mixing tires (235 front and 255 behind).

Yes, yes, the ID.4 GTX is fun but is not a brutal dynamic. This is already due to the PS power of 220 kW / 299 hp for a sporty electric vehicle. The E-SUV is still brisk and reaches the 100 km/h mark from 6.2 seconds and may even be up to 180 km/h from Techniker Grace. This can also be a Volvo Volvo XC40 account. VW should unlock more to differentiate itself. VW specifies 16.3 kilowatt hours/100 km as an average consumption and the display showed a range of 330 kilometers at the start. On our test drive, 23.7 kWh/100 km flowed through the lines and the 82 kWh battery would have extended us 327 kilometers.
Permanent all -wheel drive, but only 330 km range
The VW ID holds a few delicacies.4 GTX then still ready: The traction driving program produces a permanent all-wheel drive with a parity distribution of the drive forces up to a speed of 20 km/h.4 GTX from every mud hole. In addition, the e-crossover can pull up to 1400 kilograms and has a trailer coupling. The ID has.4 GTX no trailer aid program like the trail assist, so you have to rethink when you manage the team. But docking and moving a horse trailer using the reversing camera and the lines give up a bit of Playstation feeling. The fact that the additional car, as if it is easy to feather, is another plus of the total torque of around 460 Newton meters that is available immediately. However, the VW ID is.4 GTX with a price of at least 50.415 euros significantly more expensive than the game console currently traded via the list price. However, one should still mention that the abbreviation GTX is cheeky-of all things from the world of classic American muscle cars: the Plymouth GTX with a fat V8 engine was a beefy quarter-mile racer in 1967.

VW still hasn’t understood it!
Such a massive body may be suitable for a combustion engine. If an electric car 3 … Such a massive body may be suitable for a combustion engine. If an electric car is to be sporty and at the same time efficient (economical with a high range) (as the VWS still want to be), you have to do it very differently (S. Tesla). So only a power-eating pseudo-sports short-distance E-racer came out. A Tesla Model 3 Range Standard-Range Plus is considerably more efficient and offers (but without all-wheel drive and with less practical luggage cuff) for less money (even larger gaps)).
Oh well
Such a Model 3 is now not a SUV. If then you have to compare the Tesla Y. Because that is also not an efficiency wounder. Unfortunately, people worldwide like to buy SUVs, so it is only logical that VW also offers some. Ultimately, success vw is right.
No, Mr. Harper
Certainly not automatically better, that is a lot of work in it. Customers decide whether it is too heavy and too expensive. If you look at the sales of VW electric cars, they probably don’t seem to be too expensive. In addition, a Tesla is not easier that just sell from nodel y just less. There will probably be reasons for that.
