The basis for new business models and additional sales …
The fact that car software updates no longer have to be time-consuming and costly when visiting a workshop has now become the norm. Tesla For example, has been sending the bit-and-byte enhancements to Model S for a long time, Model X and Model 3.

"With the full availability of our over-the-air updates, we are not only underlining the innovative strength of Volkswagen, but are now also creating the basis for a completely new, digital customer experience," said Volkswagen CEO Ralf Brandstatter. "At the same time, we are laying the foundation for new digital business models and are thus achieving an important milestone in our ACCELERATE strategy."
In the future, the company plans to provide customers with free software about every twelve weeks in order to keep the vehicles up to date at all times. In addition, VW plans to generate more revenue in the usage phase through new, data-based business models – for services and functions that can be booked as required.
In the future, this could be Travel Assist or better battery performance for long journeys, for example, and, at a later point in time, highly automated driving as well. With these additional digital services, VW intends to generate additional three-digit million sales in the next few years.

The graphics of the central infotainment display will be calmer and clearer and operation more intuitive.
