XBus prototype: Is he the E-lightweight vehicle for the mobility of the future?-prototype

As part of the world premiere of the fully functioning XBus prototype, it became known that the first-man-led electrician, after about three years development time enters the next phase. In mid 2022, the first production characteristics of the new modular universal vehicle will leave the factory halls in Itzehoe. We have compiled all the facts, details and information about the streamer below.

What may it be: Electrical Convertible, E-Off Roader, Electric Transporter with Socket Building, a fully electric combination, or just an electrified pickup, box car or camping bus. All this has the company Electricbrands from Hesse with its brand EBUSSY in view. Meanwhile you act under the brand XBUS. And Ralf Haller, founder of Electricbrands AG, is self-confident: “The time is ripe for the XBus. When we look at the growing traffic density, greater cars can not be the answer. We need clever, versatile and sustainable concepts that receive us all the individual mobility and personal lifestyle – and without exhaust gases, but with comfort, familiar range and reasonable speed. And exactly there we put on with the XBUS.”

Already with the beginning of developing workers ago about three years ago, Haller set itself the goal of developing one of the most innovative, sustainable electro-light vehicles in the world, a synthesis of technology, usability, design – and fun. The result is now the XBus. Which sees itself as a modular universal vehicle that sees the criteria of lightweight vehicle class L7E-B2. Looking at the pure facts, the vehicle with electric drive, empty mass of less than 600 kg, transport up to 3 persons, continuous power 15 kW, peak power 56 kW and a maximum speed of 100 km / h therefore.

Depending on the model, it brings the vehicle to a dimension of 3.96 x 1.64 x 1.96 (offroad: 2.03) and module-dependent up to 1.000 kg payload. With regard to its design, the XBus convinces the XBus has a friendly face, smooth surfaces and convinced by its puristic design language. Yaroslav Yakovlev, an automotive designer living in Japan with Russian roots, is responsible for its design. The challenge here was the basis for Yakolev and the modules to design so that they always form a harmonious unit.

“And everything had to be easy. Therefore, the door handle trains, therefore optional the small back cameras instead of the usual mirror. Side effect: The front surface of the vehicle is reduced, “performs Yakovlev. Another important point was the interior design for him: “You usually see your car from the inside. That’s why it just has fun to look at everything. And it has to be practical.”

Purely visually can be played with the XBus both by the choice of the exterior color. As well as by panels in contrasting colors or structure optics. All this is paired with round LED lights forward and rear, which give the stromer its character. The bumper are clearly projecting, decoupled from the body and not painted – because design and function form on the XBus a suitable for everyday use.

Exciting than its design is probably only the functionality of the XBus. Because this sees itself as a real transformation artist for trade and commerce – but also a leisure motor with long-distance qualities can be. And all in one, because in no time it can be adjusted accordingly. Only at the chassis you have to decide if you choose the XBus City or the XBus offroad with more ground clearance. Both variants are available as a basis in the Freedom version or with eight different modules. The Clou: The modules are simple and exchangeable in a short time. Without special tools.

The four-wheel drive XBUS – four wheel engines with 48 volt technology – familiarize on quality components and a Engineering from Germany. For the production of the prototype in the variant Offroad Open! Draws the Ideenion Automobil AG, which is also active in development and prototype construction for other car manufacturers. The backbone of each XBus is constructed of the material steel.

The founder of the company also gave to understand that through cooperation with German suppliers, according to environmentally friendly production methods and short delivery routes as well as the use of cobalt-free batteries of the XBUS its climate backpack already after less than 10.000 kilometers driven. And has come to his end at some point, his items can be reused 98%. Just for the reason because you have “the overall concept intended from beginning to finish green”, so Haller.

Back to the battery and thus to reach the XBUS range. Its energy consumption is given with 5 to 10 kWh per 100 km. In the basic version with eight battery packs (10 kWh) is possible so a range of 100 to 200 kilometers. Whoever integrated the XBus with solar cells in the roof depending on the module, can expand the range of up to 200 kilometers per day. Furthermore, it is so that the XBus (also later) can be equipped with other battery packs. Find up to 24 pieces in the modular all-rounder. With this and with solar power from the roof, the range in urban space rises to over 600 kilometers. Loading is optional via AC or on 11 KW loader. Or you exchange the empty battery packs directly against full. Also.

The starting price of the XBUS is significantly below 20 in the basic version.000 Euro including German VAT. 9.000 Pre-orders give it as Electricbrands to report. Added more 10.000 Orders from the European network with so far around 600 dealers.

  1. I’m torn. On the one hand I like the concept and especially the off-road camper triggers somehow a “wanting”. But I find the price just as much too steep in view of the expected security equipment. There are too many things missing, which are standard in cars, then over 33.000 € for my desired configuration, and with 10kWh battery. As L7E would have to be for my feeling through the bank ~ 10.Be 000 € cheaper.

  2. Ingenious part, but also for the fight price, here you can see innovation power of small startups and the downfall of German manufacturers who still trust old patterns.
    Bye BMW …

  3. I like the idea and the vehicle. Technical equipment and price fit with the view of other vehicles such as Z.B. Dacia Sandero, Spring + Skoda Enyaq IV (with and without battery) But not at all, if you are not a wealthy idealist.

  4. Genial concept !!!! but only three seats allowed ?! This is typical German “spasden thinking”, sorry,
But there is finally developing someone a light, super compact, economical, multiflexible, environmentally friendly vehicle, ideal for a four-five-headed family, and then only three seats allowed?
Jaaa and the … Monster-Ego-Elektro-SUVs, which are now an environmentally friendly due to their mass, which get a fat subsidy, and this frugal, environmentally friendly vehicle, which should now be much more promoted, goes about empty ???!
Yes, nee is clear … I could puke ! What a stupid scampland with his chopped regulations. 3 seats. I do not understand the logic.
Well, shit on it, then you have to stop the rules. Or emigrating ?
