Zagato is celebrating the anniversary of the Italian brand with an exclusive small series. The basis of the expensive vehicles comes from an American manufacturer.
E.in Birthday present makes a career: Originally, the Zagato TZ3 was supposed to be just a study, a one-off bow by the Italian coachbuilder before the 100th anniversary of the Alfa Romeo brand. But now the fast-paced showpiece goes in small series under the name TZ3 Stradale.
A single TZ3 under the surname Corsa was built as early as 2010 on behalf of a German collector, but it was designed solely for the racetrack. The Stradale, on the other hand, is to be street legal. Unlike the Corsa, it is not based on the Alfa flagship 8C, but on the American Dodge Viper. Zagato has not yet given any technical details, but the V10 petrol engine will probably be used in a version with at least 600 hp.
However, Zagato has already published the first photos. The production model is based on the study, but gets bigger and wider.
The coupe has a long snout in the style of the 8C, but ends at the rear in a suddenly steeply sloping, combi-like rear end.
Only nine copies are to be built in 2012, interested parties must reckon with prices of around 500,000 euros.
